the brightness / picture contrast is good with sharp colors.... ...that , sometimes, it does't support higher resolutions... means to say when you gear up the resolution to 1280x720 , it goes shackling...
the monitor screen goes blank and you feel about loosing your monitor....
furthermore... on some video cards.. it does not perfom well.... consider a commonly used VGA Company "NVIDIA", i used it's 32MB Card on this monitor and when i turned on the computer.. a message appeared on ... more

one worst thing about this monitor is that , sometimes, it does't support higher resolutions... means to say when you gear up the resolution to 1280x720 , it goes shackling... the monitor screen goes blank and you feel about loosing your monitor....

" Frequency out of range " this message was not from window but from the OSD (on screen display) Mode by monitor...
so, i pluged the 8mb vga card again.... and said to my friend that keep enjoying the 8MB Power :) ....
then i tried some more cards to it but same result.. even i changed the systems also for best proof of the monitor....
the other draw back, i think, is the view size of the monitor that is only 14" that means a 1" less than your given price of 15".... most 15" monitors have upto 14.5" view size but not exact 14".... so, that is also a weak point of 105s....
one drawback more, or you may not think it a big deal :) , but i have to write is it's base is almost worthless.. the monitor not moves smoothly on this base.... when try to move the monitor.. the base also moves.. like it has not a good grip.....
so, fellows... if you are willing to buy a 15" monitor... then try another good monitor for your needs and keep these few points in mind while buying..... ;)
Advantages: very good and easy, good refresh for eyes, a great company Disadvantages: a little bit weight! ( i took from shop till house! :P )
...i wanna talk now about Philips 105S, a standard (cheaper) monitor of 15'.
Nowadays, it's not the best one around, but if you don't need a professional monitor, this is the best choice.
If you are a web designer, or a 3d designer, so i can suggest you a 17' monitor, and if you have quite good monitor, i can suggest you a monitor of the new technology ( with small tube ).
Philips 105S is a 0.26 dot and also if you stay for 10 hours near pc, your ... ...you will have problems if you will stay for 10 hours near them ).
I Have this monitor since December 1999, and till now i got no problem.
I'm a webmaster, so i work with it and feel good when i build site with it.
It's resolution is till 1280x1024, but you can use this resolution only with a good graphic card ( don't think that graphics depends on monitor ).
Menu is very easy and intuitive. I Had no problem with it.
