Compared to other common 19" monitors it is roughly the same size and weight (about 70 lbs.). It is Energy Star compliant and emits low radiation. It doesn't have a built in microphone, which is fine by me because those types of microphone usually are poorly designed.
This is another reason I bought this monitor. It comes with a 3 year warranty from Philips and during the first year if you need repair, they will bring you a replacement monitor to use until yours is repaired. This warranty is the best I have seen for any monitor at any price.

With a maximum horizontal scanning frequency of 95 KHz, the Philips 109S is capable of displaying a resolution of up to 1600 x 1200 @ 75 Hz, or up to 1280 x 1024 @ 85 Hz, delivering a fine level of detail and absolute flicker-free images. Its new Six-Window On-Screen Display (OSD) provides an optimal screen parameter adjustment, featuring Quick X'it for instant exit at any functional level.
