My husband is very fussy when it comes to shaving and he likes to have his own razor that I don't use. He used to spend a lot of money on purchasing the Gillette Fusion Power 4 pack priced at 7.99GBP. After finding out that I was using his razor he decided to buy the Rechargeable body shave system Phillips TT2021 this is not to be confused with the Phillips TT2020 which is similar, but not the one I am reviewing. So my husband decided to buy this razor because he knew that I wouldn't use it because I cannot use electric razor's like this they make me come out in a rash and do not work on my skin.

I asked my husband to review this razor and to give me his opinions of how effective the razor is. The following is the review that I have rewritten in my own words for the purposes of Ciao.

This razor is exclusively for men with an ergonomic design that is completely waterproof. Seeing as my husband works out a lot in the gym he can take this with him for use in the shower. This is the perfect shaver if you need to shave your body ready for body building competitions where you need to show your body off or indeed for any other purpose where you want to look your best. You can use it all over your body: chest & abs, underarms, groin area, legs, back and shoulders. It has hypo-allergenic foil Stainless-steel blades so unlike some other electric razors it doesn't make you come out in a rash that is sore and itchy. Well... it doesn't make my husband come out in a rash, but if I use it, it does. I have very sensitive skin and this razor is only suited for men.

It only takes up to 8 hours for up to 50 minutes of cordless action. You also get a charge stand and hanging cord with your purchase. A manufacturer's guarantee is also included with the razor. I like the fact that the guarantee is for 2 years rather than 1 year which is what you get with a lot of products.

It is very easy to shave your complete body and it not only shaves, but also trims as well. You can use this every day if you want as it is so nice to use. Even if you have the shortest hairs then this razor will get rid of them.

It is easy to hold which makes it give a better, easier shave. You can even get to hard to reach areas because of the way this razor is designed. What is also great is that with some razor's you can get a lot of cuts and nicks, but this razor prevents that because of the hypo-allergenic foil. The other great thing is that the blades are lubricated for life this means that you don't need to worry about lubricating them as you would have to with other razor's. You also get self sharpening blades so they don't need oiling.

The motor is very strong as well and this helps with trimming and shaving. Because the motor is so strong you can shave with hardly any effort.
It gives a very close shave because of the individual contour head that follows the contours of your body. If you are the type of man who cares very much about your appearance then you cannot get much better than this razor. In fact, I call it a razor, but it is more than a razor it is a complete body grooming system.

Is It Cost Effective?

What my husband really loves about this razor is that it gives a better shave than most of the other leading brands. Also because this razor is so high quality you won't need to spend as much as you usually would on other razor's. Just to give you a rough idea of price for the Gillette Fusion Power razor blades that we were buying previously we paid 7.99GBP however the Phillips TT 2021 Body-groom costs around 26.27GBP for 2 years guaranteed life, but it will last much longer than this if you look after it. If you were to buy 4 packs of Gillette Fusion Power razor blades it would cost 31.96GBP now there is no way these blades would last for 2 years so there you have it. Compared with other razor's and razor blades on the market the Phillips TT 2021 Body-groom wins on price nearly every time. You cannot ask fairer than that especially since everyone is trying to save money nowadays.

Using an electric razor saves you not only money, but water too. If you use blades then you have to rinse them every time between strokes. Not only is there the water and blades, but there is also the cost of the shaving cream. I think the price is excellent whilst it is not too cheap it is also not too expensive. In my opinion it is very cost effective.

Setting it up is really easy. You just take it out of the box and plug it in to charge it up. If you are used to using blades then you might have to adjust to using an electric razor. The first thing you will notice is how much better your face feels after using it. Your face won't be as painful, sore and uncomfortable as it was whilst using a disposable razor.

The Phillips TT 2021 Body-groom offers comfort and superior performance. If you do decide to purchase one of these razor's then you can expect to save significant amounts of money. The accuracy this razor gives is fantastic especially on sideburns, goatees and under the nose. However it also gives a superior shave all over the body.

This is definitely a top of the range razor. When you open the razor you are immediately aware of the quality and this is confirmed when you hold it. It is really well made. It looks a little like an insect quite advanced in style. It has a long, rounded body and a round head. Another good point to this razor is that you can use it in either direction. It's not only a shaver, but a trimmer too.

It is simple to use and practical. Depending on how you want to look the 3 cutting combs let you choose different lengths. When you first try the body-groom you might find that you spend a little longer than usual trying it out, but this should reduce once you get used to it. The body-groom will not replace hair clippers, but it works effectively on beards.

What About Cons?

If I could fault this product in any way I would say it was in the way it was presented. It came in a box with a plastic mould that looked tacky and I was rather disappointed that there was no carry case included with it.

How To Use An Electric Razor

Before having an electric shave you need to wash your face and dry it thoroughly.
Start by using the trimming part of the razor and trim any long hair. Shave in the opposite direction to which your hair is growing. This will help slow the hair growing process and ensure you get a lovely close shave.

Use small, circular motions with the razor. This works well for shorter stubble, but for longer stubble use larger strokes. Try not to shave the same spot repeatedly and don't leave the razor over one spot of the skin for too long. This could hurt you and make your hair look uneven.

If you are used to using a disposable razor then it might take a bit of time to get used to. It will also feel a little strange at first. Keep with it and you will get the hang of it eventually.
