Philips VoIP 433 is an amazing Philips gizmo at very reasonable price.
It has DECT- cordless telephone function with absolutely good sound quality. Its range is amazing and I could hear clear voice thro' 6 walls thickness indoor.
It is also has dual function of VOIP that means we do not have to sit near computer to chat and talk to someone when online. Setting VOIP with provided CD was straight forward and effortless job. Within 5 minutes my phone was ready to go online. It recognises all your contacts and has ability to sign in from handset. Beware it only works with windows live messenger and not with Skype or Google talk.
Phone has colour LCD screen with good resolution. The screen saver and other icons are animated and make going thro\' and making use of various functions pleasurable.
It has 100 contact number memory and 5 recent dialled number memory. I do not have caller Id but it says it has that capability too.
Phone is lightweight with soft buttons. It has special button for activating hands free speaker function, volume control, messenger button, speaker mute button and redial button.
The size and shape are aesthetic and liked by all the visitors at my home.
Initially by looking at picture I thought the wireless base will be quite larger, but it is cute tiny piece with pager capability.
This base can be connected to 4 handsets, which can have intercom facilities also. In fact one handset can be used to make telephone call and one for voice chat simultaneously. The calls can be transferred between handsets easily.
Presently it has talk time of more than 6 hours and still holds the charge so I think real talk time may be more than 6 hours. Sorry, I can't comment on standby time as it is difficult to judge until n unless you keep the phone off hook for longer than 24 hours, which I haven't. Still I can say it is more than 24 hours with my personal experience.
One disadvantage is that it has no answering machine capabilities.
Overall I think at sub 20 GBP price it is worth buying, which serves dual function of digital cordless phone as well as VOIP support.
