Advantages: Well made, easy to set up, looks good. Disadvantages: Signal not brilliant
I have had this since December 2007. The set-up is nice and easy, sender box has 2 inputs, 1 a scart lead, the other an RGB lead with a scart adapter.
The first thing I noticed was that Wireless LAN causes really bad inference, so I have to turn that off when using it. Once that is turned off the quality is reasonable, but I sometimes still get inference from other wireless networks.
I noticed on the box it says that Sky remotes will not work with this, but I currently have it connected to my Sky box and the remote works perfectly fine, no delay at all.
I currently have the sender downstairs in the living room and the receiver upstairs in my room, so there's about 10-15 meters between them at most, with a ceiling and a wall between them. But I'd say that this is about the maxumim range as I've had to position them carefully to ...
Advantages: Watch Satellite In A Second Room With No Wire Disadvantages: It's Still Only One Channel
THE BASICS OF THE UNIT
Basically if you have a unit, be it a DVD player, a sky box or a video, that has a scart or a composite signal output then this unit will allow to view the signal in another location (up to 30m from the unit in a house) without having to fit a wire. You can even go to the second room with your remote control and change the channel over from there so no more running up and down the stairs to get the program you want. Another good use that I can think of for this unit is if you had some AV equipment that you wanted to have hidden away in a cupboard but still be able to control it then you could put the units away and just have the receiver on show. Or if you had a CCTV system and didn?t want someone to know where it was being recorded you could come out of a switcher unit into this and send it remotely to a VCR ...
Advantages: Works very very well! 4 channel options on the 2.4GHz band Disadvantages: 2.4GHz band getting over crowded, could interfere with other electrical equipment.
After purchasing this video sender on a recommendation and a lot of research, i found it extremely easy to set up - the 4-channel option is useful if you find that any interference is happening from your WLAN or cordless telephones.
Little bit of setup required to get the all in one remote control to work - but this is easily done by following the manuals.
All in all a very very good buy, and the only video sender on the market at the moment i would recommend.
As for picture quality, mine is going from one side of the room to the other and is as you would expect very good indeed, however a friend of mine has also got one (the person who recommended to me), and his goes through 2 brick walls and a bookshelf, and he gets a crystal picture on his 17" LCD TV.
However, each house persons requirements are usually different, and so i ...
