This is a product I've heard so much about and really wanted to try, it was only the hefty pricetag that was stopping me, so I was thrilled to receive a 30ml bottle in my beauty advent calendar... more

Philosophy was founded in 1996. They specialise in beauty products formulated with 'scientifically proven' ingredients. Purity Made Simple The Purity Made Simple collection from Philosophy includes three cleansing products - an oil, a gel and a cleansing liquid. I will be discussing my use of the 'One Step Facial Cleanser' aka '3 in 1 Cleanser For Face and Eyes'. This product is an award winning cleanser which Philosophy claims is a 3 in 1 product for your face and eyes. It should cleanse, tone and remove all make up from your skin. Whilst cleansing your skin, this cleanser should deep clean ... more

Advantages Advantages Time Effective And A Clean Happy face.

    Disadvantages Disadvantages The Initial Outlay

I have always tried to follow a strict cleanse, tone and moisturise routine and for that reason I have tried a great deal of different products and I do change them around as there are always new products coming onto the market and this review is of the latest one I purchased. = Who are Philosophy = Philosophy was created in 1996 by a lady called Christina Carlino with over thirty years experience in the skin care business. Her first company was called Biomedic and this was a medically based skin care line distributed to plastic surgeons and dermatologists. The idea for Philosophy was born ... more

Advantages Advantages Can be used on face and eye makeup and it dissolves it away!

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Quite pricey!

I was stumped! Its a Monday morning yet again ,another weekend of gigging had taken place and a residue of the thick stage makeup I had wore the last three nights had left its mark firmly on my pillow! I slowly stumbled into the bathroom looked in the mirror!!! And AARRRRRRGGGHHHHHHH!!!! I look like something from the Rocky horror picture show with big black rings of mascara and eyeliner halfway smudged down my cheeks and under my eyes! "How could this be?" I thought. I mean I spent a good five minutes washing my face last night before I hit the sack and still makeup was all over the place ... more

Cristina Carlino created the Philosophy range after 25 years in the health and beauty industry. She believed that great skin is the best cosmetic - make up is optional. She created the range in 1996 and has taken a more holistic approach to beauty; each product in the range has some of her own philosophies inscribed on the bottle. The first product I have tried from the Philosophy range is the one-step cleanser, Purity Made Simple. This cleanser was created because Philosophy feel that most cleansers just don't get the skin clean enough. Many cleansers simply create some foam that you move ... more

Advantages Advantages Simple one step cleanser, makeup/eye makeup remover, toner leaves skin clean, fresh and soft

    Disadvantages Disadvantages None

Purity Made Simple is an all in one make up remover, eye make up remover and cleanser in one. There are many cleansers around and often it is difficult to pick one, even if you know your skin type, the seasonal weather can be a great factor. Purity is a great one step cleanser for all skin types, which makes the job pretty simple as you don't have to switch cleansers due to the season. The cleanser is great as it also removes makeup thoroughly, and as you don't need a separate eye makeup remover, you don't have to worry about it going onto the delicate eye area. It gently emulsifies and ... more
