THE BIRTH OF MY PHILOSOPHY
On one of my regular wanders around selfridges make up department, whilst wondering what could possibly top my newest dior kiss lipgloss, i stumbled across a modest looking bookshelf type display. (actually i was kinda shoved into it by some woman who obviously had something more important to worry about then my safety, either that or i was wearing my invisible shoes again)! After picking up the fallen box (with a "who did that how inconsiderate" look on my face to hide my guilt) lo and behold i discovered Philosophy!!
The next 10 minutes saw me standing, open mouthed, captivated by the philosophical blurb dancing over every product in the range...i just had to have it all!
Not entirely convinced yet, assuming that it was probably all anti ageing stuff as everything is nowadays, which would be a wasted buy for me as my mother does not take those jokes very lightly, i took a closer look.

WHEN HOPE IS NOT ENOUGH
My suspiscions were lightly confirmed, as my eyes drew to some products titled "save me" and "help me", claiming to 'cross train' your skin and leave it feeling more youthful. Pretty pricey at £48 and £36 respectively, i would hope that it contains less chemicals and more natural products then most, which would account for the price!
There is also another mini range called "when hope is not enough" which is dedicated to skin care, from spf to night cream to serum, all claiming to restore skin cells and help to renew the damage caused. the prices range from £25 to £36, again quite pricey for the size (56g), but i would say worth it if you consider the price of other 'anti aging' creams on the market and taking into consideration the amount of chemicals you are probably putting onto your skin, especially as the consistency seems to be a little bit goes a long way (i used the tester to stop my left hand getting older i'll let you know how it goes) i would probably use it if it was recommended (and i was older).
There is a fantastic range of treatment kits which are familiar cosmetic treatments to do at home.
It was while i was checking these out that the friendly sales assistant became my Philosophy teacher!!

THE AMERICAN PHILOSOPHY
Taken aback by the friendliness of the dark haired woman that spoke to me, i instantly thought oh gosh its someone i know and i have no idea who she is!! Have no fear, my doubts were curbed in the upcoming seconds as she cheerfully asked if i was interested in her assistance...in a soft american voice. Now normally the american accent seems 2 go right through me and makes me wince a bit but this woman was very ear friendly and easy on the eyes, which made me want to share her philosophical mind. She explained that the treatment kits directly reflect the Philosophy brand itself, simplicity. The longest home treatment takes 5 minutes i was assured, with good results. The treatment kits range from acne kits to face lifts to hydration to microdelivery peels to shaving kits, and are priced from £36 to £55, which is a cheap alternative to a salon trip, and much less invasive, let alone embarassment free!

BABY GRACE
She then showed me more of the range from exfoliatiors (which are made from real sugar, she even had me taste) and real sea salt exfoliators to a fragrance that smells just like a "clean baby's diaper", called baby grace. As most perfume ranges, this was no exception, with lotion and shower gel and even solid perfume in the baby grace scent. This was also the case for their falling in love fragrance, which also includes a shimmer set (now you're talking), all with the light fragrance of falling in love (not sure if its an accurate smell, mind, not actually sure that falling in love has a scent?!).
There is one more fragrance in the Philosophy range, which seems to be more established then the other two, it's called amazing grace, and it has a more extensive range including a body scrub which is a yummy pink, body gloss, a gorgeous rich lotion, hair conditioner, body firming emulsion, shower gel, and an olive oil scrub, which is made from real olive oil (thank goodness she didnt ask me to taste that!).
The prices are the same for every perfume - £28 which is cheap for perfume nowadays, and the rest of the products ranging between £17 to £38 for the amazing grace gift set.

ITS ALL IN THE HEAD
There is also a hair care range, from an intensive leave in conditioner, to curly hair treatment, to blow dry spray to styling products to deep cleansing shampoo to frizz conditioner, which the american woman assures me, is a godsend! The prices, i feel are okish, it is £15 for a 500ml bottle, which would last me about a month maybe more so i feel that it is a good price to pay for nice hair (as much as these products can do to help me!)

THE COMMON MAN
Yes, ther are also a few products for men, such as shaving gel, moisturiser and after shave lotion, as well as a gift set, and these price at £10 to £21 for the set, and good news girlies, we can stil pinch some of that shaving lotion cz it has us in mind aswell!!

THE LITTLE BLACK BOOK
Wow now for the climax....make up!! Philosophy has combined eye shades, cheek stain and concealer into an essential..black book which is honestly so tiny i was amazed, and for £32 the american lady said that she has had hers for a few months and she uses it religiously and it stil has prominant signs of life, so i am convinced...the competition on the market is the dior girly compact with foundation, lip and cheek tint with 2 make up brushes for the same price...i have yet to decide on this dilemma!!
Philosophy also do a lip and cheek tint in one, a lip gloss called big mouth and a beautiful lip balm called kiss me which i am in love with. It has peppermint oil in it, which, as well as leaving you with minty fresh lips, makes them tingle which is a really refreshing feeling, as well as moisturising. It leaves them with a hint of colour which is quite glossy and a huge tube il admit ive been using it about 20 times a day for 2 weeks and it still looks brand new and at 9 for 5oz i think a bargin because it is a good everyday lip balm if you use a small amount and rub it in and a great night shade if you use a bit more and apply with a lip brush, and you can even taste a hint of the mint in your mouth, yummy!

MARRY YOURSELF
There are also gift sets such as here comes the bride, which is a pampering set and a birthday girl set as well as the amazing grace sets. The birthday girl set is £28 and includes a kiss me lip balm, amazing grace shower gel and a couple of other products which definately would have totalled to more if bought seperately, all in a cute make up bag a great gift! The bride set, however, costs £36 but has great products to pamper youself before your big day such as body emulsion, conditioner, shower gel, and more, all in a cute philosophy case which id be tempted to buy even though im way off marriage!!

There are many more products in the range, but i thought i would tell you about those that i have come across. On face value, it doesnt look like anything special, but they really are unique products which are as natural as possible, to ensure that you are giving your body the best, and i would love to have all of this range, which is avaliable in selfridges and harrods as far as i know, but the website that i have used for buying the fake tan and various other philosophies is www.hqhair.com, which is an amazing website with celebrity products all one one site, worth a look.

"the road to intimacy is lots of kissing...."
so kiss me pink, i love philosophy!!
