The DW001 Dishwasher from Phoenix has got to be one of the smallest available on the market today, perfect for the small family of two living together for the first time or maybe a family of three which is what I am part of. It is pretty much a cube of around half a metre eac h way. It is 54cm (22inches) in height which makes it a really handy and rather cute size that is easy to fit onto worktops if you have the space. The front has simply got the open/ close latch on and the controls. The opening latch is safety locked so the dishwasher stops if it detects that it has been open, unfortunately if this is half way through you may still find that water goes everywhere.
It has a drying function if you do not wish to leave your washing up out to dry. It has a pull out tray with nicely sectioned off parts of each type of washing up, only problem is if you don't have the exact right things to wash then it's a bit awkward fitting things in. Usually it is alright but maybe not suitable for the manic energy conserver.
Using the dishwasher is pretty simple. I am a teenager who just doesn't do kitchen appliances and even I understand it so no worries about being able to run it! Just simply push the on button and press what you want, nice and easy. One thing is that over time the cover for some of the buttons have cracked. They each have a thin plastic covers that stick out a little with writing written onto them, unfortunately the space between the covers and the actual button is hollow so these crack after lots of use so you have to get to know where the buttons are because you may not have a cover too long.
Another problem is that every now and again we have a leakage problem where we find our kitchen flooded with water that has escaped the dishwasher. Unfortunately ours is placed on a worktop so everything gets soaked! If the problem is continuous I would suggest taking it back but ours is only on and off so a table cloth handles the problem sufficiently.
While running it is not particularly loud is you are worried about disturbance then it runs quite quietly. If you have it running in a busy kitchen with washing machine running as well then it is barely noticeable. Depending on what setting you have it on the running time changes, our usual setting takes around half an hour that just cleans it without drying. I think that this comes with only one temperature setting so you'd need to check that on the product details page if you have any specific needs.
Overall it is a decent little dishwasher that did work perfect when we first bought it but deterierated after a while but very handy for those with little space in their kitchens but not so good for them with big families so lots of washing up to do! Not too bad but nothing special. It has definitely been outdated by more modern upgrades and new stylishly designed dishwashers with extra features but this is a nice, good sized, easy to use, simple dishwasher.
