Pick me up What is Pick me up magazine? Pick me up is a woman’s magazine which seems to target group appears to be at women who enjoy real life stories. How come I am reading it? I was given a few copies of this magazine by a friend and including a New Year edition which I thought that it may be more cheerful than these usual types of magazines that maybe full of hope and new starts. The cost This magazine is usually 70p but the copy I have was available for the Christmas period so was £1.45 but boasted that it had 92 pages. Cover The cover is a warning to the doom and weird stories that are ... more

    Advantages Advantages A LOT!

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Real Life Stories

I wouldn't really call myself a fan of real life stories type magazines as I find the stories to be a bit 'oh-my-god' which end up scaring me and so I usually tend to avoid these kinds of magazines. However , being a massive magazine fan , I have noticed recently that a lot of magazines seem to be joining up with other magazines and selling them as part of multipacks. I have definetely become a fan of the OK , OK USA! , New and Star multipack as it works out a lot cheaper.( I pay £2.95 for four magazines , whereas if you bought them individually OK! magazine alone would cost £2.65 and so I am ... more

PICK ME UP MAGAZINE A little while ago I reviewed Take a Break magazine, & I mentioned how many compeitions there are to enter & the good stories in it etc. Anyway, along the sector of 'Womens Magazines' lies Pick Me Up! A magazine designed to challenge other Real Life magazines such as 'Take a Break' & 'That's Life!'. Pick Me Up! lies in the cheap but cheerful range of magazines, designed to give a good, quick but entertaining read. Personally, even though I prefer Take a Break magazine, I would certainly pick this up if no other magazines were available. Of course the magazine has happy & ... more

Advantages Advantages Real life stories, lots of competitions, great price, sold each week.

    Disadvantages Disadvantages None.

Pick Me Up is a magazine whose tagline is 'More real life for your money' and at just 68p per week for a 67 page magazine (on average) it really is fantastic value with you paying around 1p per page. The magazine contains real life stories, fashion for high street prices, competitions, puzzles, photographs sent in etc. There are always many stories to read in the magazine and some of them are very random such as 'My baby's birthmark burst' and 'Arrested because I won £30k on the lottery' and there is usually at least one story that has been covered in the press or newspaper over recent months ... more
