Manufacturer's product description
Pine Technologies is capitalizing on the MP3 revolution with its D'music SM-320F, a portable MP3 player that weighs a little more than two ounces (without batteries) and easily fits in the palm of your hand. Since MP3s average just one-tenth the file size of the typical audio CD track - 4MB for a four-minute MP3 as opposed to 40MB for a four-minute CD track - the 64MB of memory in the D'music can hold an average of 16 songs at a CD-quality sample rate of 128 Kbps. That is at least as many songs as you'll get with most albums you'll find on CD or cassette. This player comes equipped for uploading/downloading music, voice recording, and FM radio. The player also features a very sturdy casing. There is room for an additional 32 MB of memory (SmartMedia) and the memory may be used for any type of file, not just MP3s. There is an internal battery charger, so that if you're using NiCad batteries, you don't have to take them out and put them in a charger to re-juice them. Digital capsule audio copyright protection system is included in this player. The sound quality is excellent and the fact that it isn't going to break if you drop it while you're running for your bus, make this a great buy.
Advantages: Low cost, decent sound quality and compact design Disadvantages: Slow transfer time
...The D’Music feels comfortable, with its grippy notches, matt-black finish and lightweight design (72g with batteries). Its buttons are neatly laid out, with Play and Pause, Skip, and Stop arranged on a four-way pad. As for the sound quality, vocals are clear and crisp but deeper tones lack punch. This can, however, be adjusted by selecting one of the five audio effects. The D’Music comes with limited memory (only enough for 30 minutes of music), although that can be quadrupled at extra cost. Unfortunately, its music transfer is very slow. This cost £118, has 32 Mb memory and takes 2 AAA batteries...

Advantages: small, lightweight, no moving parts Disadvantages: woefully inadequate memory, add on memory expensive
...yes, the invention of MP3 files has been a huge step forward in being able to download music from the internet. The best thing of all is that you can get away without paying for it! 64 meg may seem alot of memory but most mp3 files are about 4meg or more each. that doesn't give you many songs for your 64meg. Now that is fine if you are taking the player for an hours workout at the gym. But, what if you are away for a two week holiday in the sun and you want to take some music with you. You would soon get bored with listening to the same songs over and over again. For the mp3 player market to really take off machines need more memory and at the same prices we are paying now....

Advantages: Small, Sophisticated, Skip-Proof Disadvantages: Only holds about 15 Songs, No Led Screen.
...4 weeks ago i headed out from my home hoping to buy a mp3 player, 3 hours later i came back with the Creative Muvo 64MB MP3 Player, it cost me £49.99 from pc world, it comes well packaged in a box. The contents are as follows, Muvo MP3 Player, driver install disk, instruction manual, head phones, AAA 1.5v battrey. I placed the cd into my pc, installed the drives, read the manual and in under 10 minutes i was listening to the crystal clear sound of music, how can something so small create a noise so good i asked my self. Well i thought that the very loud volume and crystal clear sound would eat the battrey power and i would only get a hour out of it, but i was surprised to find that it lasted 8-9 hours! I was listening to the music and accidently droped the mp3 player i was expecting a skip or a jump but no, not even that. I tried...
