The Pioneer BDC-202 can play multiple Blu-ray Disc formats, as well as provide high-speed reading and writing of DVD and CD formats. With a focus on BD-ROM playback, the new Pioneer combination computer drive will be a significant contributor in the emergence of the Blu-ray Disc format for both professional and consumer use on computers. Developed for OEMs and systems builders, the drive has BD-ROM compatibility and enables playback of quality high-definition (HD) movies on PCs. It includes read support for single and dual-layer Blu-ray disc formats together with high-speed read/write compatibility with a range of DVD and CD media. The drive supports high-speed DVD read/write (including DVD-R/RW, +R/RW and DVD-RAM) and CD read/write.
