Advantages Superb performance at a great price.
Disadvantages There may be better, high-end, players on market, but they'll set you back some serious money.

First of all let’s talk about the cosmetics. This is a serious piece of kit that will appeal to those who like their equipment to be...substantial. The BDP-51FD is built like a tank, and a sizeable tank at that, so if you prefer the minimalist look, then you may want to look elsewhere. Personally, having previously owned a couple of high-end Denon DVD players, I like ‘em big and the BDP-51FD certainly fits the bill. I’m not sure about the gloss black finish though. Sure it looks stunning, but it does show up fingerprints. Not a major issue... just stick to using the remote, but worth ... more
