Pioneer have released the 3rd version of the internationally acclaimed CDJ1000 with tweaks and improvements at every turn.
The latest model includes MP3 playback in addition to the host of features available to the digital jockey.
Expect seamless looping, programmable cue points accessable from 3 illuminated pads and saveable to SD memory cards; wave viewer, +/- 100% pitch control and more.
The "master tempo" function allows tracks to be slowed down or speeding up without affecting the pitch.
Breaking adjustment is available to change the speed at which plackback starts or stops allowing the classic wind-down effect and a reverse switch gives instant control over direction of play.
The scratchability of the stationary platter gives a supremely realistic vinyl sound and the central LED display helps do away with those bits of tape and tipex stuck to yer vinyl.
The MK3 version sees the main LED display raised upwards for ease of viewing but apart from the inclusion of MP3 playblack, little improvement has been made over the original.
Full CD text and MP3 tags are supported and playback can be switched between full-vinyl mode and CD mode which mimics the jog function of the original CDJ 500s.
Auto fader-start is available when used with a mixer which supports it.
Despite the slightly plasticey feel of the jog dial/platter, the CDJ1000 is deffinitley the one to go for.
