First of all I apologise that this is in the wrong category, but I have asked and asked for the correct one to be added to no avail!
Since I bought my car in 2000, I have just had a bog standard radio cassette fitted, and either plugged in my portable CD player when I wanted to play CD's. This was not ideal, as it meant the unit was not as stable, and the quality was nowhere near as good. I carried out some research online, and then went into high street stores to have a look at the ones I liked the most, and that is when I decided on this Pioneer model.
My main reason for choosing a unit which allowed me to play MP3's was that I could have the number of CD's on 1 disc that it I would need a 5 disc multichanger for on a normal unit, and it was a lot less hassle. The unit has a decent sized removable flip down face, was also very ...

In my opinion..."The PioneerDEH-P9800BT Car CD Player is really amazing because of its versatility. I love it because it's loaded with features to die for. It also has voice dial, auto answering, and phone book transfer. Its audio performance is also very good because the system offers a wide dynamic range and excellent signal to noise ratio so what comes out is sound that is accurate. Furthermore, it also features auto time alignment which equalises the audio output right for your car's interior. With three hi-volt pre-outs, you can even add amplifiers, speakers, subwoofers, and connect your ipod through an adapter. Another ...
Advantages: Sound quality, 3 pre-outs, MP3 + WMA playback. Disadvantages: Model now discontinued.
I have had many in-car head units, Sony, Kenwood and various other Pioneer models but this model does everything i need from a head unit. I have had this for about 4 years now, and is frankly head and shoulders above most head units i have had before. You don't now need to spend £200 - £300 on a head unit, and thankfully prices have come down significantly in the last few years and an equivalent model should now set you back about £150.
My current set up comprises of PioneerDEH-P7500MP head unit, Kenwood amp 60 x 2 driving a pair of pioneer 6.5" speakers on rear shelf, an audison amp 220w x 1 driving a 10" Pioneer sealed sub box in the boot and factory fit Ford speakers driven by internal amp (50 x 4) on head unit.
Needless to say it rocks with most types of music. Bass extension is deep but not harsh or overpowering. Separation ...
