...when I decided on this Pioneer model.
My main reason for choosing a unit which allowed me to play MP3's was that I could have the number of CD's on 1 disc that it I would need a 5 disc multichanger for on a normal unit, and it was a lot less hassle. The unit has a decent sized removable flip down face, was also very attractive, and the features were eyecatching, however I would have liked to have been able to decide which colour I ... ...and at times this can be quite irritating. Although being the gadget freak that I am, I loved the unique screensaver feature.
Using the unit is simple, and the sound quality is as good as I would have wished, and so far I have had no instances of sound dipping or any tracks skipping, no matter whether I am using a standard shop purchased CD, or even a budget price CD-R, and it also reads CD text. When reading MP3's it is a little ... more
First of all I apologise that this is in the wrong category, but I have asked and asked for the correct one to be added to no avail!
Since I bought my car in 2000, I have just had a bog standard radio cassette fitted, and either plugged in my portable CD player when I wanted to play CD's. This was not ideal, as it meant the unit was not as stable, and the quality was nowhere near as good. I carried out some research online, and then went into high street stores to have a look at the ones I liked the most, and that is when I decided on this Pioneer model.

The unit has a decent sized removable flip down face, was also very attractive, and the features were eyecatching, however I would have liked to have been able to decide which colour I wanted the 3D graphic display in, as it kept changing, and at times this can be quite irritating. Although being the gadget freak that I am, I loved the unique screensaver feature.

When reading MP3's it is a little slower initially, but then that is to be expected. The same praise can be heaped upon the radio tuner, which should satisy even the most discerning of listeners as you can pre set up to 24 stations. It is simple to tune in and the sound quality is far superior to many of the other units I tested out which fell into the same price range.
It has 2 pre outs, which for hardcore stereo lovers may not be enough, but for me this was acceptable. Mine also came with a remote control, but to be honest I find it easier just to use the controls on the unit itself.
The unit surpassed expectations for the price I paid (£139.99), and I do apologise if this review is less technical than you would have hoped, but I am not a techie!
