Pioneer DV-600AV

Advantages: Fantastic audio/AV Delivery
Disadvantages: Who cares

...I have enjoyed the old Pioneer DV 626D for many years but up dated my TV to Samsung 1080 capability so invested in new 600av. Wow what a change! This is the best money I have ever spent on AV. I have an old Yamaha DSP2 Amp and B&W surround speakers. Now they dance to both audio and DvD. I played Harry Potter 3 on old system then on new. The difference is mind blowing! Then put on a classical cd and sit back and wonder what you have been missing. I have friends who are so chuffed about their audio systems and would melt to hear what this system can deliver. Hey buttons are small it needs a bit of time to warm, up and do not rely on display for info but put your favourite DVd or CD on and sit back and enjoy. You will not be dissapointed!!.... Advantages: High quality video, supports many formats
Disadvantages: Confusing labels on remote controller

...Pioneer DV-600AV was interesting for me because it has possibility to play DVD-Audio and SACD and it has got integrated decoder with analog output for 5.1. Extra interesting is the quality of sound which some DVD players are having bad quality. Quality of sound was pretty good with nice serve of acustic which i wasnt able to heat on my older players. I/O Back side includes HDMI, component Video, S-video, audio 5.1, scart, optic and koaxial output.On the front panel is placed conector USB 1.1 for USB devices. There should be more conectors, but on the other hand we shall be glad that none of the important connectors is missing. Extern USB devices are not supported as manufacturer has written. Advantages: great sound
Disadvantages: delayed forward and rewind

...Nowadays, you can find loads of good, moderately priced DVD players on the market from more or less every electronics manufacturer around. I had a look around before deciding on the Pioneer DV-525. A major surprise I had is that the one I chose is one of the only DVD players around that can pass a true 96 khz signal while playing 96 khz / 24 bit DVDs. Nearly all other players down-convert this signal to 48 khz. When you combine this feature with an MSB link DAC it will create a nice budget-conscious CD transport and D/A converter. Quite a problem, I think, is that it gets quite noisy when spinning the DVD and even more noisy when it is moving from track to track. Strangely enough the level of noise varies from DVD to DVD. Usually you won’t notice unless the movie has a quiet scene. Another disadvantage is the delay in moving forward... Read review
