Pioneer DV-600

Advantages: Fantastic audio/AV Delivery
Disadvantages: Who cares

...I have enjoyed the old Pioneer DV 626D for many years but up dated my TV to Samsung 1080 capability so invested in new 600av. Wow what a change! This is the best money I have ever spent on AV. I have an old Yamaha DSP2 Amp and B&W surround speakers. Now they dance to both audio and DvD. I played Harry Potter 3 on old system then on new. The difference is mind blowing! Then put on a classical cd and sit back and wonder what you have been missing. I have friends who are so chuffed about their audio systems and would melt to hear what this system can deliver. Hey buttons are small it needs a bit of time to warm, up and do not rely on display for info but put your favourite DVd or CD on and sit back and enjoy. You will not be dissapointed!!.... Advantages: High quality video, supports many formats
Disadvantages: Confusing labels on remote controller

...Pioneer DV-600AV was interesting for me because it has possibility to play DVD-Audio and SACD and it has got integrated decoder with analog output for 5.1. Extra interesting is the quality of sound which some DVD players are having bad quality. Quality of sound was pretty good with nice serve of acustic which i wasnt able to heat on my older players. I/O Back side includes HDMI, component Video, S-video, audio 5.1, scart, optic and koaxial output.On the front panel is placed conector USB 1.1 for USB devices. There should be more conectors, but on the other hand we shall be glad that none of the important connectors is missing. Extern USB devices are not supported as manufacturer has written. ...them to Kendals in Manchester who subsequently honoured their price match guarantee (even though they were selling the same unit for over £600) When we got the 3 boxes home, we spent about 2 hours setting the system up and connecting it to our TV. We were quite happy with how the sound was set up straight from the box and only changed the settings when we moved to a bigger house. In the past 6 months, the system has developed a problem where it will not recognise audio CDs - it still plays DVDs with no problem. On contacting Pioneer Customer Services they directed me to an approved service centre who are going to charge £40 just to look at it! After having my previous system for considerably longer (and a cheap one at that!) I can honestly say I am disappointed with the reliability of this machine. My only other problem with the machine...
