...Also called PioneerKuro. Kuro stands for black and each one of the plasmas within this range has been designed to deliver better black levels than any other flat TV on the market. You may be thinking why is the black so important? You are probably more interested in the colours that it's got to offer. Well, let me tell you that the black contributes towards the contrast, colour accuracy and pretty much everything to do with picture quality. It may not be a full HD screen but the current 1024x768 resolution produces a images which is nothing short of awesome. To me probably the best image produced by a screen. Also, it copes with 24fps content. It a great TV which also looks great. 5 stars...

Advantages: mind blowing hi def play back Disadvantages: it will cost you!
...This plasma is about as good as it gets with regards to having the ultimate homecinema experience in your living room.
It comes with 3 HDMI inputs / 1 component and 2 scarts - so pretty much everything is catered for.
What immediately hits you about the Pioneer is how realistic the colour pallete is - blacks are very black - nothing quite comes close.
Both Standard def (freeview ) and HD are well represented, with the latter simply mind blowing on this set.
Watch something moody like Sweeney Todd - and the screen just oozes quality - images almost look 3 dimensional.
The sound output is equally impressive on the undermount speaker -I still prefer outputting via a 5.1 amp.
The screen is big with a capital B! - so make sure your lounge viewing area is sufficiently large, so not to overwhelm the room...

Advantages: High playback quality, easy to use and available in black! Disadvantages: Occasional SCART problems on startup, no "display off" option, sometimes too good!
...Pioneer have been in the home cinema market for longer than most, and it shows in their most recent offering of DVD players. The DV464 is placed in roughly the middle of their range, and retails anywhere between £90 and £150. It's got all the right letters after its name - DTS, MP3, CD-RW, WMA, SRS (TruSurround). To cover those quickly, DTS is an improvement on Dolby Digital sound; it'll play MP3s and Windows Media files off recordable CDs (it'll also do slideshows of JPEG image files, play Video CDs, DVD-R and DVD-RW), and SRS TruSurround allows a simulation of surround sound to be created from two speakers.
As ever, the DV464 conveys the feeling you get with Pioneer equipment that you're getting a good buy - lifting it out of the box it feels solid, and it sits in the middle of a very big stack of equipment without trouble...

This TV simply oozes quality in every area. The panel itself is of the highest quality I have ever experienced. Some firms make the mistake of producing a high-quality panel, coupled with mediocre sound. I really do believe this set has extremely high... more
The Pioneer 4280XD a fantastic choice of television and quite possibly one of the best plasma options currently out of the market, before it's release there was a massive hype within the circles that follow this sort of thing and you should know that the more
