You may be thinking why is the black so important? You are probably more interested in the colours that it's got to offer. Well, let me tell you that the black contributes towards the contrast, colour accuracy and pretty much everything to do with picture quality. It may not be a full HD screen but the current 1024x768 resolution produces a images which is nothing short of awesome. To me probably the best image produced by a screen. Also, it copes with 24fps content. It a great TV which also looks great. 5 stars
