...I did a whole lot of research into the meaning of HD, resolution differences, contrast ratio etc. After doing a thorough check on everything that was on offer from manufacturers we decided the Pioneer PDP-LX5080D looked by far the best. We bought the TV in February of this year and can only say it has been money very very very well spent.
We have it wall mounted and the Kuro picture quality is second to none. Everything about this flat screen plasma TV is fabulous. Just be careful when buying as ours did not come with speakers (although they were offered for sale seperately), we did not want speakers and hooked ours up to the home cinema system.
Goodbye, from two very happy Pioneer customers....

Advantages: DVD recorder, HDD , Jukebox & surround sound all in one Disadvantages: cant watch Digital TV if recording Terrestial unless extra scart added
...We scoured the internet to find what we thought would be the answer to all our needs & this system was what we thought would fit them most closely. We needed a new DVD player - multiregion - and a new home cinema system. Also We wanted something with hard disc space so we could store all our CD's & listen to music without getting up & changing Cd's all the time so the pioneer with its built in digital Jukebox seemed like all our dreams had come at once.
Setting up was not easy but once we had sorted out the basics from the 155 page manual it was OK. The choice of recording to HDD or to disc was great .. you can also record what you have from HDD to disc if you really like the film or program you have recorded.. BUT you cant record from the digital Jukebox to disc so if creating CD's is your thing then this is not for you .. You can...

Advantages: OEL, the 'wow' factor, looks, features, sound quality Disadvantages: None I can think of right now!
...Pioneer have done it again!
Everytime someone sees this head unit in my car, they just wanna play with it. The OEL screen, with it's flashy animations, is simply amazing at night. Everyone has seen the advert where the graphics come out into the car, and believe it or not, its not that far from the truth! Ok, so they are not 3D images, but the blue light cast from screen does indeed stretch out into the car. Talking of the OEL animations, anyone who is into their dance music will be in heaven. Both the city scape and the 'flying through space' animations seem to dance along with the beats.
The sound quality is superb, with crystal clear sound even from the tape source. The tuner features are again excellent, with just about every variable being able to be changed, if you can find the menu that is. The sheer number of features mean...
