Pirelli P6000

Advantages: Will keep you on road
Disadvantages: Pricey

...the details.

Pirelli are one of the top brand names when it comes to tyres, they can be slightly more expensive than some other top brands and are reasons other than garages trying to make a buck or two on them. Pirelli tyres are a well balanced tyre for all occasions and most driving styles. Pirelli are preferred tyres for manufacturers such as BMW, Ford and Vauxhall and some others. 195 - This is the width of the tread that sits on the road, the higher the number the more grip you should have. This will vary from tyre to tyre.

/65 - This is the depth of the tyre from the tread to the rim whether it be steel or alloy. This will vary from tyre to tyre but the most common are 65 or 60. Sports tyres tend to be lower because the lower this ... more

Road Handling

A detailed account of my use with "Pirelli 6000"

Advantages: Solid performance on less-than-perfect (and also wet) roads.
Disadvantages: They look pretty generic.

...this is why I bought Pirelli 6000 instead: HANDLING/PERFORMANCE: Great response/feel and grip. * Excellent all-round tire. Can handle delapitated roads extremely well. The roads where I live are in poor condition... * Really hugs the corners at high speed. You definately "feel" the road, as they're quite soft and springy. Harder tires cause you to sometimes skid/lose control more easily. So these tires are GREAT for new drivers too! * Amazing ...
...find good tires when you have 15" rims. All the other good ones start at 17" LOOKS: Simple. * Pirelli has been a trusted (Italian) brand for decades. Perfect for the shrewed car owner who doesn't need flash but likes to challenge his/her car from time-to-time. :o) ...

The best Tyres!

Advantages: The Pirelli P6000 is one of the most popular tyres on the road at the moment.
Disadvantages: a bit expensive

The Pirelli P6000 is one of the most popular tyres on the road at the moment. The tyre design is geared up for practicality as is the compound, creating an all things to all men tyre. Used by BMW, Ford, Vauxhall amongst others. The life of the tyre is very good as is the performance, however if it is sports performance you are looking for then this is probably not the tyre for you. The typical buyer is a motorway driver with a requirement for a long ...
...weekend! The Pirelli Pzero Nero is relatively new to the production line. It is the closest you will get within the Pirelli range to a track tyre. Its design is like a something out of a science fiction film! This tyre has been seen on some of the BMW, Mercedes and Audi range. The braking distance is something that is noticeably reduced due to the increased footprint provided by the tyres tread section. The softer compound in used by this tyre doesn’t ...

Economically car

Advantages: quite and nice performance.
Disadvantages: Style

'3" people here) can fit in the back no problems, which is a true miracle for a small 3 door car. The standard fit Pirelli P6000 tyres on the 15" alloys are grippy - so much that I havn't yet experienced the ABS kicking in. The tyres are a bit noisy at 30-40mph, though. They do tend to rumble quite a bit at that speed, which wasn't a problem on the Continental PremiumContact shod car I had for test drive. The 185/55R15 tyres on the Corsa seem to tramline easier than the 185/65R14 tyres I had on the Astra, though. The electric steering is weird at first compared to the heavier "mechanical" power steering in the Astra, though is really easy to get used to. The 1.2 16v engine is plenty powerful - 75hp which is identical output to the 1.6 8v I had in the Astra, and is more economical than the cast iron lump too. Oil consumption is about ...

stay on the road

Advantages: excellent grip in wet
Disadvantages: expensive

When I bought my last car it had pirelli P6000 tyres on it, I have never really been that bothered about what tyres were on my car before as long as they were cheap and legal, but since using these I have always replaced with P6000's. Price I get my tyres from a local supplier (not a major garage) as I have used the major company's and believe the price and quality of service are supperior. In the past I have only paid around £25-£35 per tyre and now I pay £50 (for 185/55/15) for my Pirelli P6000's - this should be an indication of how much I rate these and even for this price I still think of them as a good buy! This is the price fully fitted and may sound expensive but includes valves and balancing, and this particular size is considered low profile and fits on alloy wheels (on which the balancing has to be done on rear ...

Grace and Pace.

Advantages: Ride, Handling, Performance, Engine, Wonderful interior.
Disadvantages: Brakes, space (if it bothers you!)

1998 Jaguar XJ8 4.0L Saloon. Nothing feels like a Jaguar, they're often accused of being an old man's car or such like - nonsense, they handle very well, the only weak point is the brakes on the steel bodied cars (the later X350s are much better in this respect) this was the second of my x300 series Jaguars. The 4 litre is the engine to have, being just as economical as the 3.2 but with much more performance. Early (pre 2000) V8s had a reputation for cam-chain tensioner problems, plus wear on the Nikasil cylinder bores, despite these supposed weaknesses my car clocked up 170,000 trouble free miles before I sold it. The Jaguar V8s are truly great engines. The ride was wonderful - almost floating over the road - while being stiff enough to put up with some serious corner speeds through the twisties. I didn't rate the standard Pirelli P ...
