I would say that nearly everyone has experienced getting bitten by some sort of insect before, and those that have, know just how damm painful it can be. Well I used to live in London until recently, and had never been bitten before, but since moving to the country I have suffered terribly. Last summer was worse than this year, I don’t know what sort of insects keep biting me and still don’t. I had bites on my arms and legs, which were very red and itchy and caused terrible swellings, my legs, were so painful that I had trouble walking. I went to my local chemist to see if they could recommend anything. I was advised to purchase Piriton allergy tablets, which the pharmacist suggested for quick relief. Relief but at a social cost

Advantages: Easy to swallow tablet
Disadvantages: only last 4-6hours

or clubbing with mates a far amount being a student but you can't drink when you take these allergy tablets. I would recommend these tablets to anyone that needs relief from itching that will also help them sleep but as the tablets only last for 4-6hours at a time and can limit what you are able to do (drinking and driving) I would use a different allergy tablet that lasts for 24hours, is non-drowsy and allows you the freedom of been able to have a drink. If it doesnt matter about them being drowsy tablets and only lasting for a few hours then Piriton allergy tablets are perfectly good at what they do. I cant comment about the cost of them in comparison to other allergy tablets as I recieved them on NHS prescription. ...

PIRITON SAVED MY LIFE

Advantages: can be a life saver. cheap, can be used by children from age of 6, effective
Disadvantages: takes a little while to kick in but this is to be expected

I have always had bad allergies and have tried many different antihistamines but get on best with piriton. About a year ago I was given some antibiotics from my doctor and immediately had a severe allergic reaction, my body was covered in red spots, my lips, mouth, throat and tongue began to swell and i couldnt breathe and my entire body itched like mad and began to swell. Luckily my immediate reaction was to take four piriton tablets (this is above the recommended dose of one tablet every 4-6 hours) but upon arriving at the hospital i was told that the combination of the high dose of piriton and the high dose of ventolin (to open my airway) had saved my life as i had been told not to wait for an ambulance and for my parents to drive me to the hospital straight away before i stopped breathing but had i not taken the piriton and ventolin ...
