Pizza Hut, not really a difficult concept to sell is it? Round bread type bases covered with a variety of different toppings to make the Italian open sandwich the Pizza. Trouble is Pizza Hut are not the only place offering this continental delicacy, there are a multitude of places on the high street which offer these and several delivery outlets in every town. ~~~ Disclaimer ~~~ Before I tell you about the wonderful Pizza Hut adverts I feel I should let you know that I have not sampled most of the delicacies I am about to mention. Mainly when I go to Pizza Hut it is for their lunchtime buffet (see my opinion on Pizza Hut in general if you really want to know about that!) so I don't order the special Pizzas just grab a slice of whatever is put out for the vultures. There is another reason I haven't sampled them too, this I will explain as I talk about each pizza.
~~~ McDonalds Syndrome ~~~ I'm sure you have all noticed that the Big Mac you purchase in McDonalds bears little passing resemblance to the one in the picture on the wall. The picture on the wall is of a succulent well filled bun, not a squashed effort with the sauce dribbling out and a limp lettuce leaf shoved in. Pizza Hut pizzas sadly also suffer from this syndrome. The one I saw advertised on the television tonight had Pepperoni as one of the toppings. This luscious pizza had lots of circles of pepperoni on it, each touching the next without quite overlapping, looking at this picture you would be forgiven for thinking the toppings are generous and you would get a bit of pepperoni with every bite. Funny that the pepperoni pizza I saw arrive on the buffet the other day had about a dozen bits of pepperoni on it, you needed to pay attention when you picked up a slice of this as some slices had no pepperoni on at all. The only way to get the bits of pepperoni to touch each other on the pizza you actually buy would be to fold the pizza in half, maybe two would land together then.
~~~ The Gimmick ~~~ They also need a "gimmick" to persuade us that their Pizzas are better. Now the two best "gimmicks" are offered by Domino's Pizza, fresh dough and a special system for keeping deliveries hot. Pizza Hut couldn't possibly copy this (although it might be an idea) so they give us the "gimmick" pizza instead. Ha, they don't give it to me though….
~~~ Stuffed Crust ~~~ Here's one of those special pizzas you see advertised on the telly. The stuffed crust. Many pizza eaters enjoy the crust of their pizza so much that pizza hut have filled the crust with melted cheese to make it extra special. I'm not sure what the point of this one is, I always order my pizzas without cheese (yes I'm odd) and anyway the cheese comes on top of the pizza doesn't it? Oh well I am assured other people like the stuffed crust. Oh but they are people with big appetites, despite no mention of this on the TV advert the stuffed crust is only available in a large pizza. Large pizzas feed 3 to 4 people so you need a few friends who all fancy the same toppings on their pizza to try one (does such a thing exist? 4 people wanting the same toppings??). Never mind Pizza Hut do other special pizzas for you to try….
~~~ Twisted Crust ~~~ Aaaah I keep seeing this one advertised, I think it is their newest special pizza and I really quite fancy this one, I really do love the crusts on pizzas. The pizza has a special twisted crust which you can twist off and dip (dips cost extra I believe). The crust looks really lovely on the advert and I know I like dipped crust because my trusty Dominos do dips for the crusts. I havn't had one though. Again despite no mention on the advert the Twisted Crust is only available in a large pizza. I'm not even sure I have 3 friends…..
~~~ The Edge ~~~ Well heres a pizza I don't fancy at all. This one effectively has no crust as the toppings go right out to the edge of the pizza. It is supposed to have more toppings than a regular pizza and therefore is slightly higher in price. Good news though it isn't only available in a large size, its available in medium as well. To try this one you only need one or two friends who fancy the same toppings as you. A medium pizza is sized to feed just 2 to 3 people, shame I've only got enough friends for an individual pizza.
~~~ The Bottom Line ~~~ Pizza Hut are certainly advertising an interesting variety of pizzas to whet your appetite. I don't think they would sell as well if they actually advertised pizzas that look like the ones they sell you though. Also they should mention in their adverts that you need to bring all your mates to sample one of their special Pizzas. I'm sure Pizza Hut won't mind you and your three friends sitting in the restaurant for an hour arguing over which toppings to have on your shared feast…..
...a cigarette and a takeaway pizza from Pizza Hut. I used to despair that Pizza Hut did not do deliveries until that mouth-watering advert a couple of years ago, and my life changed. Now luckily I'm one of those people who don't put on weight easily but, judging my the amount of pizzas that I consume, I should do. The Edge is the pizza most commonly advertised and, personally, I'm not a big fan but it offers extra choice to all us pizza connoisseurs.....
... ...are other companies springing up every day. I think the taste of Pizza Hut is superior to all challengers and you pay for this privilege. I will continue to eat them and no doubt I will get my just desserts and put on 5 stone by this time next year. ...

...I always stop off at Pizza Hut for my lunch. Pizza Hut is orginally an American company and they have come over to Britains cities and I have eaten in a Pizza Hut in Germany so the restaurant is now worldwide.
Pizza Hut have a wide range of Pizza's, even the crust's of the pizza are different. There are thin, deep pan, cheese filled and more. Then the range of toppings are endless and each topping from there costs about 50p or so. I'm not sure about ... ...for the great deal that Pizza Hut have on every weekday between 11.30am and 2.00pm. The deal is called the Pizza Hut Buffet and that means that you can eat as much pizza, salad, and pasta as you want. The price for this is £4.99 for an adult but £2.49 for a child so really this is an excellent deal for the price! You have to buy the drinks separatly but the price of a bottomless glass (meaing that you can have as much drink as you want) is about ...

Advantages: Square bits of pizza - how have I survived this long without them (he said, his voice dripping with sarcasm). Disadvantages: It's a gimmick, don't be taken in by it!
...me, have seen all these Pizza Hut 'The Edge' adverts on telly and you think to yourself, 'Hmmmm.... that looks like an interesting type of Pizza, I think I'll spend about £13.00 and try one'. Well, here's my tip for you, DON'T BOTHER. It isn't worth it. Just go to a regular pizza place and order a much cheaper pizza because, although you lose the crust, this can often be the best bit - think Stuffed Crust! I mean, topping that go all the way to the ...

Advantages: Nice pizzas :) Disadvantages: Adverts are crap
...25% discount voucher on the pizza hut website - but there are more ways of getting cheaper bills. Quite often, I order an Edge pizza when dining with my other half. Pizza huts edge pizzas come with a choose your own topping option. Because im not a vegetarian and she is, we often go "half and half" (not the bill, the toppings I might add) the staff know what you mean, and it means you can have 8 toppings on the pizza for the price of 4! Whats even ...

Advantages: You don't have to wash up Disadvantages: The mess when the youngest eats far too much
...time? As for the pizza it keeps coming thick and fast, there really is something for everyone, with just about every type of pizza on the menu making an appearance at some point. If you've got children they can stuff themselves silly for half the price of an adult and of course theres no washing up afterwards. The staff are friendly and efficient, and again if you've got children they are provided with crayons for colouring and helium ballons. It's ...
