When I got to the hotel on the Sunday, guess what ....... There was a problem with the rooms and the booking had been cancelled, after I had set off for France.
The hotelier was helpful and found me somewhere else nearby. But he told me that he hates them as well, they take 3 months to pay the hotel AFTER your stay. A quick calculation showed me that I was charged 45% more than the he would receive.
When I got home their email said they tried to phone me, but they did not.
I get the feeling that you will be the first to be bounced if there is any overbooking or room problems.
Needless to say I am still awaiting a refund
Thank you for reading, and DO NOT EVER BOOK WITH PLANIGO.COM
Advantages: good feedback - saved me some grief I believe Disadvantages: Not sure yet - only just discovered this yesterday.
I stumbled across the planigo site yesterday and was impressed that a hotel normally always booked solid for a MotoGP race in Assen, Holland had availability, not to mention significant price reduction for other European hotels. I thought perhaps too good to be true. When I saw that a 15% charge would be applied for cancellations, regardless if done way in advance, turned me off -I didn't want to commit yet. Within a few minutes of my online reservations, ... ...phone call from them, several e-mails and again this morning another call. They seemed to jump on me like a hawk looking down on fresh road kill. Based on what I read here and their immediate action to get my reservation, I am being very cautious and not using them. Thank you all for your warnings. I would rather pay a few bucks more than be disappointed and mad later - or keep my peace of mind. One does not take to going to Europe lightly and I ...

Made a booking for 2 rooms for 1 night in France. I had to cancel the booking a few days later. They emailed a refund form for completion and state that they will refund my money up to 10 weeks later less a charge or e23.10 for admin. It was only did I realise that they had charged my card before arrival--first time I have come across that. I have tried to fax this form back to a number that does not exist. Non of the contact numbers work. I enventually ... ...passed to a lady who gave me 2 other numbers that do nor work. She also advised me to scan the form & email it to them. I told her I do not have a scanner so she advised I take a digital picture and then email this. When asked why all of this trouble for a simple cancellation she said it was because they needed my signiture. I told her they did not need it when I made the booking so why now. At this point she said she would pass on my complaint and ...

Advantages: none Disadvantages: Took money for a booking that never existed
We booked through Planigo one night at a hotel in Cannes prior to a fortnight at a Pierre-Vacances resort nearby. On arrival, the hotelier had not been informed of our booking, and since he only takes minimum 7 night stays over the peak season, the booking made through Planigo was not ever available. The hotelier and his wife were fantastically kind and helpful, phoning Planigo on our behalf (and even giving us refreshments while they did so) but ... ...put on hold for 20 mins on international mobile phone rates (which used all our holiday phone credit) to be told they could place us about 70 miles away. This was at 6pm on a Friday night in August with two exhausted little children. In the end, we tried our luck at the Pierre-Vacances resort we had booked from the following day, and they let us stay an additional night and keep the same apartment for the full 15 days. Full marks to Residence Veles ...

DO NOT BOOK A HOLIDAY WITH PLANIGO.
Planigo offered me a quote for a hotel, which I accepted. Then they sent a quote that was over double the original amount, naturally this was rejected and queried. They then sent the original quote which i again accepted...When the invoice came in it was for double the quote again. At this point I cancelled the booking both by telephone and email. Planigo accepted they made a mistake and claimed they had not made any charges...when i saw my credit card statement they had taken £300 from me!!
I have had to go to my credit card company to get a refund as Planigo were non compliant.

BEWARE!! we booked and paid for a holiday with these people- 48 hours before we arrived at the hotel (by which time we were already abroad) they called to say the hotel was fully booked. THEY HAD NOT EVEN CONFIRMED AND PAID FOR OUR BOOKING. after two hours on the phone they agreed to give us an alternative room for half price but when we arrived, we found out that the regular price was half what we had paid anyway. THEY ARE LIARS AND THIEVES. IF YOU VALUE YOUR HOLIDAY, DO NOT BOOK WITH THESE PEOPLE. ...
