We use these headsets at work, and they are fantastic. In our industry we need the ability to use both hands whilst working. In the past we would hold the phone handset between our ears and our shoulders which, along with being quite uncomfortable, actually breaks the rules of health and safety!
The headset is light and you can easily forget you are wearing it. We did have someone finish a shift once and walk out of the room still wearing one! You can wear it on either the left or the rights ear thanks to the quick and easy clip on holder.
The battery is also fantastic. I haven't had it run out on me yet, but that is because everytime you take the headset off and place it back on it's holder it automatically starts charging the battery again. There is an orange light on the desk holder/charger to indicate a full or charging battery.
Rangewise these are great. In emergency situations at work we have run out of the room, along the corridor and into engineering and still had a strong and clear signal with no dropout. We did a test one night to see how far we could get them to go. This test involved someone getting into the lift and going up five floors to the vending machine whilst talking, to see where they would get to. Now, fair enough, we lost signal after the second floor (we are in the basement) but we think this was because they were in a lift. When he came back again he took the stairs and said he was still connected to us and he could hear us from the fifth floor even though we couldn't hear him. Not the best test, I'm sure, but an indication of how strong they are.
We have six of these in the same room and they do not interfere with each other. They have their own wireless channels. There is a volume control on the headset itself as well as a disconnect button. This disconnect button doesn't actually hang up the phone, it simply disconnects the headset from the phone. If you did this during a phone call you could press the button again and the caller would still be there. I must point out that this is not a mute button as you cannot hear the person on the other end if you push the disconnect button. This is the only issue I have with the headset. You cannot hang up or answer a call from the headset. This may be the way we have it set up at work. We have the handset still connected so we have the option of using the headset or the handset. If we want to answer the phone we need to lift the normal phone handset then push the connect button on the headset in order for it to work.

...were all equipped with new Plantronics headsets after we requested them to assist us on a day to day basis. We spend long periods of time on the telephone and have to keep detailed notes of every conversation we have. Taking notes either on the computer or in the old fashioned way of pen and paper while searching through a file for information you need to pass on to a customer meant that most days we would all go home with terrible back and neck ... ...our ear and shoulder. The headsets are expensive at over £120 each but reassuringly well built and very stylish. When we were told we would be getting headsets I pictured something similiar in looks to the headsets in helicopters that would weigh a ton and make us all look frightfully silly. Advantages: ease of use, very durable and minimalist. Very little clutter Disadvantages: The battery does need an overnight charge
I have used one of these headsets at work for about a year now and once fully charged it has made my teleconfernces and long conversations very easy. I can now move around my office freely even to the other side wihch must be 70m at least and not lose a drop of clarity. Battery time is good and can last up to 4 hours. Its comfortable and light and comes with several fittings so you can settle on what feels comfortable.
I would say if you get involved ... ...price its excellent value for money and will makeyour daily office life so much easier. I would advise buying the lifter too as it really does complete the package and stops you having to lift the handset manually everytime a call comes in and just leaving you to push a button on your earpice to take a call.
