We use these headsets at work, and they are fantastic. In our industry we need the ability to use both hands whilst working. In the past we would hold the phone handset between our ears and our shoulders which, along with being quite uncomfortable, actually breaks the rules of health and safety!
The headset is light and you can easily forget you are wearing it. We did have someone finish a shift once and walk out of the room still wearing one! You can wear it on either the left or the rights ear thanks to the quick and easy clip on holder.
The battery is also fantastic. I haven't had it run out on me yet, but that is because everytime you take the headset off and place it back on it's holder it automatically starts charging the battery again. There is an orange light on the desk holder/charger to indicate a full or charging battery.
Rangewise these are great. In emergency situations at work we have run out of the room, along the corridor and into engineering and still had a strong and clear signal with no dropout. We did a test one night to see how far we could get them to go. This test involved someone getting into the lift and going up five floors to the vending machine whilst talking, to see where they would get to. Now, fair enough, we lost signal after the second floor (we are in the basement) but we think this was because they were in a lift. When he came back again he took the stairs and said he was still connected to us and he could hear us from the fifth floor even though we couldn't hear him. Not the best test, I'm sure, but an indication of how strong they are.
We have six of these in the same room and they do not interfere with each other. They have their own wireless channels. There is a volume control on the headset itself as well as a disconnect button. This disconnect button doesn't actually hang up the phone, it simply disconnects the headset from the phone. If you did this during a phone call you could press the button again and the caller would still be there. I must point out that this is not a mute button as you cannot hear the person on the other end if you push the disconnect button. This is the only issue I have with the headset. You cannot hang up or answer a call from the headset. This may be the way we have it set up at work. We have the handset still connected so we have the option of using the headset or the handset. If we want to answer the phone we need to lift the normal phone handset then push the connect button on the headset in order for it to work.
