IT IS SMOOTH AND VERY ELEGANT This screen for the money is nearly unbeatable, It has no HDMI plug but this isnt a problem because the dvi plug is hcmd, or something like that, so it will work with sky HD tv so is future proof.. Good HD TV if you are on a budget Advantages: Excellent Menu Navigation, good picture clarity for standard and HD Disadvantages: Scart socket is flimsy I purchased this television in March last year. I live in a household where the television is a focal point and is used from 9 am until 9 pm. It may seem a bit far fetched however I can assure you the television is used upto 12 hours per day, 7 days a week. This is an excellent television for a low price. The picture quality I would have to say is exceptional with an excellent contrast rate of 10,000:1 and a brightness of 1,500 cd/m². Picture quality ... ...warm to cold picture etc. The menu is set out clearly, audio can easily be equalised or even preset to a favourite level with the 5 bands audio equalizer. There are various other features including teletext, a picture in picture function, and an alarm function so that you don't miss any of your favourite programmes! Great value Plasma Advantages: Superb picture quality Disadvantages: Bulky stand isn't particularly svelte and might not to be everybody's liking. ...always had good experiences of Panasonic products, so got the Panny for just £400 online in October 2009 and am very pleased with it so far. It's very easy to set up. I mainly view live football, DVDs and Xfactor. Samsinging for Samsung Advantages: Looks the business. Major value for money Disadvantages: the on and off noise may annoy some people. I think you can turn it off though ...stylish and signature red of samsung along the bottom really makes the TV look expensive......but it was not. We paid just £449 for a 42 inch TV that actually has a higher spec than my old one. The picture is great, the menus are easy and it quirkily has a greeting and goodbye tune it plays when on and off!!! Pointless but my last one didn't and i like it!
