Phillips 42PF5521D/10 Advantages: Picture and sound Quality, Connectivity, Looks Disadvantages: Weight, plastic stand , remote control Well after weeks of researching for a new tv, the worry of wether or not LCD or Plasma was a better choice. I decided to ask the advice of my friend whom is a tv engineer. he Told me to go for the plasma although there is nothing wrong with LCD he told me the bigger screens are better with Plasma. He told me for a good value for money TV which has lots of great features and superb picture and sound quality to go for this Phillips model. I cannot ... ...a fantastic choice. The picture is breathtaking compared to my mums 42 phillips with ambilight and pixel plus2 technology. and unlike some plsma/lcd tv's the sound is great. most of these tv's have a very tinny sound. A very good buy for those on a budget. Tv man did say that for a superior tv Panasonic is the way to go. Like going to the cinema every night! Advantages: Superb picture Disadvantages: Can seem big at first. We had a very unlucky week where the washing machine and tumble dryer broke and the TV blew up. Unsurprisingly it was the TV breaking that made my husband panic and before i knew it, we were at the shops looking at new televisions. I soon realised that my husband saw it as a chance to get the monster of televisions-the 50 incher. When we were looking in the shop, the Phillips 50 PFP 5532 D 12 looked big, but in a huge store it didnt seem massive. ... ...to grow into a huge monster. Suddenly, our lounge looked tiny. I started to wonder why i had bothered putting out decorative vases, clocks and flowers when all you saw when you walked into the room was the TV. It bothered me a lot the first few days- i found myself wondering if they sold wooden TV cabinets that large or if it would blend in more if mounted to the wall. Strangely though, by the time a week had passed, it really did start to blend ... expensive but wouldnt be without it Advantages: Plasma is viewable from nearly every angle Disadvantages: you cant sit on it Firstly, I am going to try to convince all my fellow ciao members, out there, That every one should have a Plasma screen T.V And that my choice of Phillips FlatTV 42" Plasma Screen, is second to none. I believe every home should have one. It started last Christmas, 2004 We were having to have New year's eve at home, in our average size two bedroom flat, That I occupy as a live in warden for the elderly. Philips 37PF9946 Advantages: Good Picture Quality, Wall Mount Kit Included, Good Design Disadvantages: Not HD ready I purchased a 37" Philips plasma TV after looking for a wall mountable TV that wouldn't dwarf my living room but also wouldn't look too small. In the end my decision was made after getting a good deal at my local Co-op which enabled me to get a price match plus an extra 10% any high street price. The TV was advertised for £2300 in Comet and I took the brochure to the Co-op who incidentally had the same TV advertised for £2800. After the price match ... ...asked if I wanted a Philips DVD recorder for £69 which retailed at £269, I jumped at the chance. To make the deal even sweeter they also did 2 years interest free credit which I gladly accepted and left my cash in the bank making interest. The TV itself is impressively large without being ridiculous, it also came with a wall mount bracket which was a bonus, as the Sony model I'd looked at required an optional £400 bracket.
