Advantages: Amazing TV, limited edition. Disadvantages: The price.
When I heard that this TV was a 'limited edition', I pretty much bought it based on that. Given my recent coming into money, I thought it would be really cool to own a TV that only 1000 other people own, which it is. And it's an amazing TV to boot!
Look and Design
First thing you notice is that this TV is huge, at 50in it's like bringing the cinema to your living room. I also feel this TV makes a statement; people walk into your house, see ... ...a little bit worried about burglars now though. The marketers claim it 'harmonises elegantly with a wide spectrum of interior designs'. Which really is a mouthful to not say very much isn't it? But I have to agree, it does seem to go with pretty much anything. The flat screen design is eye catching, and while I wouldn't quite say that it expresses 'great beauty and intense emotion' (read the manufacturer's product description :p) , it is certainly ...
Advantages: mind blowing hi def play back Disadvantages: it will cost you!
...immediately hits you about the Pioneer is how realistic the colour pallete is - blacks are very black - nothing quite comes close.
Both Standard def (freeview ) and HD are well represented, with the latter simply mind blowing on this set. Watch something moody like Sweeney Todd - and the screen just oozes quality - images almost look 3 dimensional.
The sound output is equally impressive on the undermount speaker -I still prefer outputting via a ...
Advantages: Picture and build quality Disadvantages: Poor sound output from optical out
...have newly upgraded to the Pioneer PDP LX6090, having spent in the region of Ģ15000 in the last six years, due to my satisfaction with the Pioneer products. My cinema system is fully connected with wireworld interconnects to maximise the capability of the Pioneer products. I did keep the Pioneer AX5Ai-S in the system, as although there are no HDMI connections, this AV receiver is more than capable for my needs. I did have to purchase a longer Wireworld ... ...40-50%. The sound from my Pioneer DVR LX70D, via the Wireworld Starlight coaxial cable, to the AV receiver is perfect, making it a mystery why Pioneer have suppressed the Plasma optical out. I telephoned Pioneer technical five times over the space of three weeks, three calls to the same agent, before he finally admitted this problem is inherent in the 9nth generation plasma. This is very disappointing for loyal Pioneer customers who are still using ...
Advantages: Excellent sound, excellent vision, modern technology at its best Disadvantages: A tad expensive, slight issue with shadows
The Pioneer 4280XD a fantastic choice of television and quite possibly one of the best plasma options currently out of the market, before it's release there was a massive hype within the circles that follow this sort of thing and you should know that the visual quality even when not on High Definition is absolutely gob smacking but then for the price it retails at, you'd expect as much wouldn't you? Unfortunately there isn't all that much I can tell ... ...and SKY picture on the Pioneer instantly impressed, I've heard others hail it as the "very best for this class" and I have to agree however there are the obvious flaws such as the compression and bit-rate constantly varying from programme to programme, but the PDP4280XD's however the technology incorporated within the Pioneer did a great job of reducing pixilation to an absolute minimum. SKY HD though not without flaws showed just how dull Standard ...
Advantages: Great sound quality and picture quality for video gaming Disadvantages: Bad looking remote
Took my time choosing what plasma to buy, I believe anything above 32' should be a plasma and I''m glad I paid the extra an got this Pioneer, OK it didn''t come with a stand as the 4270XD but you get picture in picture and two hdmi i/p. Build Quality is excellent, Picture quality excellent on DVD (will look for a upscaler dvd 1080i), Xbox360 1080i looks fantastic, standard TV and sky (haven''t upgraded) good enough as this is a HD TV rightfully, ... ...format.I have read that people don''t like the remote I can''t see why it matches the TV with the same look and is metal not cheap plastic also you can programme it for your sky boxes, dvd/dvr, and vcr with all manufacturer codes supplied so three extra devices can be easily added. ...
