Samsung Style and Quality Advantages: Looks brilliant, good picture quality,no effort to use Disadvantages: minor burn in issues,collects a lot of dust,average sound quality I purchased this TV about two months ago and so far it has been nothing but a pleasure to use. I had originally decided to buy the PS42Q97 model but was told by that particular retailer that it was an end of line model and out of stock as a result. They then offered to sell me the PS42A457 for the same price and after discovering that the specification was actually slightly better I decided to go for it. The TV itself looks very slick with its black ... ...tinkering with the colour and contrast settings provided an excellent picture quality and there are many other features you can use to customise the picture quality further. I compared it with a Friends PS50Q97( which is the older,slightly bigger model) and can't find any real differences in terms of picture quality, sure, his has a bigger screen and PIP(Picture in Picture) technology, but unless you really are looking for those things in particular ... samsung do it again Advantages: 4 hdmi sockets - best normal defanition performance in class Disadvantages: lots of unneaded features (but all can be turned off) samsung do it again. they are most defanatly at the top of there game and nice to see that they have stuck with the superior plasma format for this set , the set is in there now regular piano black and looks extreamly sleek and far more expensive than it actually is. as with all samsung plasmas it does have a host of features but like its smaller 42" brother many of them seam better actually turned off for normal standard defanition watching. but ... ...since in reality most of your viewing will still be in normal defanition for some time to come. this was a upgrade for my 42" samsung and has proved to be just as good. i would highly recomend this set to anyone who is looking for a top notch screen ... colin_bradbury 22.11.2008 · Read Full Review Ciao members have rated this review on average: helpful Review of Samsung PS50A656	How is the Picture Qual... Just a really good TV Advantages: Good looking and durable Disadvantages: Gives off noticeable heat Having owned this TV for going on 2 years now I have to say that I have never regretted buying it. I have it mounted on the wall in my living room and it looks fantastic. You have the option of mounting it (but this must be bought separately) or placing it on a table or other surface with the included stand. Both were options for me but it is far more impressive when mounted. Installation and setting up the TV was simple. The instructions were clear. ... ...us to mount it to the wall. It has a built in freeview box which automatically scans for the channels during installation and the TV guide mode is clearer and more detailed than most other freeview guides I have experienced. The remote control is easy to use and looks good too. It also can be used as a multi remote, although I have never tried. LG 42PQ3000 : nice plasma Advantages: big (it is 42 inch), cheap Disadvantages: low resolution (for a hd ready) LG 42PQ3000 is my first plasma display. I found it at an electronic exhibition, two months ago. formerly, I prefer to buy an lcd display than a plasma, because plasma tv (generaly) more costly than an lcd. but, I found this LG 42PQ3000 is not too expensive for a plasma display, that's why I take this one. I buy this at 459 pounds, around 280 pounds (because I buy it at promotional cost) I am interesting with this product because of it's hd-ready. ... ...definition type. But, when I check it at home, I know why this tv is (we can say) cheaper than the others plasma tv. in fact, this plasma display only support 1024x768 pixel hd resolution, not as high as I'm expected. but it doesn't matter, because I make it with a not too costly deal. when use this tv for watching standard television programs, I found it not too disappointing. I can't see the difference of quality with my full 1080hd lcd. Panasonic Viera is a clear choice for a modern television! Advantages: Clear picture, great sound, and good value! Disadvantages: Only thing I can think of is the annoying display messages that have to close upon start-up. ...the same score as the Panasonic Viera TX-32LXD7 which has a list price of a hundred and twenty pounds less. Since receiving it I have connected it to my Pioneer DVD player (component), Sky box (SCART) and Macbook (VGA), and I am amazed at the results. Everything is far better than I have seen and heard on other sets.
