Retro Gaming At Its Most Playable
Advantages: Great multiplayer; Genuine fun Disadvantages: Linear; Becomes stale towards end
...watching the cartoons on the Marvel characters - Spiderman, Fantastic 4, Ironman, Captain America, X-Men - so I was delighted to hear that they were all included in a game. Running on the X-Men Legends engine it is much, much more fun multiplayer than single player. The reason for this is because the levels get quite repetative after a while, but also because the AI of your allies is so poor. A PG that you can probably pick up for around £15 now, ... ...control of characters from the Marvel Universe (The Silver Surfer and Thing being my favourites) and battle a horde of enemies led by Dr Doom (the villain from the Fantastic 4 series). The very basic story is propelled along through cut-scenes after every level, although considering the high quality of rendering and animation they are for the most part disappointing. Most simply involve the heroes sitting round in a chamber discussing what their ...

Kingdom Hearts II Review
Advantages: Good graphics, gameplay and timespan Disadvantages: Slightly childish and not to everyone's taste
...the second games in the Kingdom Hearts (KH) Series and by far much better than the last one. The storyline is brilliant as you play as Sora and battle your way through different realms and defeat many different creatures to obtain your goal. The graphics have been masively enhanced in this second installment of KH and you can really tell. The cut scenes are much more detailed than actual gameplay but that is only to be expected. The game is a good ... ...length unlike they did with KH1 in which is was much too long. Although the game follows it's quite childish stereotype there is something quite sinister about the game which gives it that interesting egde that many games do not have. This game feels extremely realistic when you are playing it and you can really get caught up in it. Although this game is quite old i feel it is one of the best games that has been made for a long time. If you are looking ...

Strange but interresting
Advantages: Original, first final fantasy of its kind Disadvantages: n/a
Final fantasy 12 is deffinately a must play game. The storyline is original and impressive and the gameplay is really good. At first it was strange playing a final fantasy as an rpg like that but i think it worked. I still preffer seven to any other final fantasy but final fantasy 12 doesn't fall far behind. The graphics were wiked. Im still not the biggest fan of the leveling up system. The liscence grid was just not for me as a gamer. I still think ... ...seven and ten. But i did enjoy playing the game. The beginning can be a bit much but after about 20 hours in it starts to really get interresting. I cant say im the biggest fan of the hunts but they were good to have in order to collect special weapons and armours. It allowed you to escape from the main storyline for a little bit when things were getting a bit too much to take at once. ...

Atelier Iris 3: Grand Phantasm
Advantages: Keep you busy for hours Disadvantages: Quests can take a little to long
...you discover that rather than Atelier Iris's previous real time fights, we now have a turn-based battle. This may seem like a bit of a departure for the series, but it does take some of the randomness out of proceedings, enabling the more thoughtful player to take their time and plan a thought through attack strategy. Within this system the character's skills and equipment also have an effect that must be considered and put to careful use if you ... ...tome's mysterious powers.
Visually, Atelier Iris delivers the same ensemble of hand drawn backdrops and two dimensional bitmap characters for which the series became famous. Much like we have seen in the ever popular Monkey Island, this gives the game a distinctive style, although one that is not as hard hitting as some of the more impressive three dimensional adventure role play games on the market. These scenes have obviously had an enormous amount ...

P.S. I Love U.
Advantages: Satisfying combat, some cool characters Disadvantages: Some slowdown, party member AI not great
*My review of Phantasy Star Universe is based on the offline experience because I can't afford to play online.*
The fighting system is similar to and will feel familiar to fans of Phantasy Star Online. So it's in real-time, and there's no pausing the game offline. The game sees to the likes of lock-on and strafing, but is still fairly simple, and as satisfying. A sense of character progress - not only does your character level up from battling, ... ...photon arts and character type, respectively, level up. Would have been nice to have had a checklist of the missions with rankings.
There are numerous NPCs to talk to; use of transparent people helping to give the impression of bustling cities. You can have a seat and take in the surroundings!
I hadn't high hopes for the story given how it started, but it was nowhere near as bad as it could have been. I liked some of the characters. My favourite ...
