ALTON TOWERS FOR THE UNDER 12'S
Advantages: Good Rides for little ones. Disadvantages: Can be Crowded on Theme Days.
We were thinking of taking the Kids and Grand Kiddies for Sunday Dinner, but Abigail (A Twin Lakes Regular) said how about a Picknik at Twin Lakes.
So the Last but one Sunday in September off we went, Weather Forecast was for a dry day .
We were picked up by Son-in -law Clive and taken to Abigail's House where the Other ones had gathered.
So a party of 10 headed for twin lakes, about a 20 min drive from Abilgail's in Cropwell Bishop, the site ... ...A nice large car park with stewards organising the parking in neat lines. Luck would have it we had to start a new line so quite close to the entrance, this was good as we were leaving the "PINKNIC" goods in the car for later collection.
Abigail and parents have a Season ticket. These are £41 per person valid for 12 months. The site is open every day except Christmas/Boxing Day. So far they have been 8 times so getting excellent value. Obviously ...

Gymbabes wasn't so great!
Advantages: Good equipment, only few in a class Disadvantages: Expensive
...I decided I would give Tumble Tots a try - I did it when I was younger and loved it. For his age group, the group is actually called "Gymbabes" but it is part of the Tumble Tots company.
We turned up last Wednesday and paid £5 on the door to trial the session.
There was 5 babies in total and the session started by sitting on some soft mats. We laid the babies down and gave them a quick head to toe massage while some music played in the background. ... ...allowing the babies to explore the equipment left out for them.
There were lots of things on offer, tunnels, a ball pit, a slide, soft play shapes to climb on. At the tricker activity stations a member of staff was there to aid your baby with the task. My son had lots of fun but the session was sooner over and after singing a "goodbye" song it was time to go.
I was given the membership information, it cost £20 for a year membership (covering insurance ...

Funworld Greenock
Advantages: inexpensive, great fun, good location
Disadvantages: is not particularly well supervised (in contradiction to the previous reviewer)
I regularly take my young daughter on weekend mornings who is now just over one and half years old. Although she was overwhelmed the first time we went with her mum and I, it was a Saturday afternoon and was extremely busy. She nows loves going and playing on the various equipment areas.
... ...Quick overview. I would recommend funworld to other parents with children, good fun, inexpensive, particularly if the weather is poor its a great place for children to burn off that energy. But please be prepared to supervise your younger children, its not an alternative to a babysitter and I have NEVER seen any of the play areas supervised by any staff at any time.
Ps. The very large grassed park area next door is excellent in the summer, particulary ...

Giants Den - Don't go there
Advantages: None what so ever Disadvantages: Everything
...before her birthday, sent off the invitiations etc only to receive a phone call a couple of days later saying they couldn't do parties at that time and could i change the time as the invitations had already gone out I said this was not possible and they accepted the booking at the time. At the party i was told I would have to pay £1 charge for each child who had not turned up I refused to do this as was never advised of this. I was told this was ... ...form. I advised that the deposit had been paid at the time of booking a week ago. The Supervisor apologised as she was not aware of this but then went on to advise if I had not paid this, they would just cancel the party and on this occasion they would let it go and waive the charge! It was as if they were doing me a great favour they mess up the booking from start to finish and threaten to cancel a 6 year old's birthday party over their incompetence.
