Advantages Advantages Cheap, easy to use, good storage size

Disadvantages Disadvantages Nowhere to write whats on the flash drive

Bargain flash drive With so much of our lives now digital it is important to be able to preserve our pictures and documents etc. in the event of a computer crash. I used to be really bad at backing up until I lost a lot of sentimental photographs once and now I try and make sure I save everything on a regular basis. Because of this unfortunate loss I now have several memory cards and flash drives floating about my house and to be honest it is like the good old days when I would have camera films lying around and not know what was on them only now it is easy to just plug a memory card or flash ... more

    Advantages Advantages Transfers files quickly

    Disadvantages Disadvantages None

If you want a way of transferring files there are a number of options. First being email, but this can take up quite a bit of time and some email services will have limits on the file sizes you are allowed to send. Next is a CD/DVD, but then you have to spend time burning them and you’d have to use rewritable disks and it could cause problems if you want to edit them files. You can get external hard drives, but some require you to plug them in to the power and they are all a bit big to carry around. So what’s left? USB memory sticks, or flash drives as they are also known. They come in a range ... more

Advantages Advantages Quite reliable - has not corrupted, stores a decent amount of data

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Transfer speed, tacky/lightweight

As I don't have my own printer, I am a regular user of the library computers in order to print out essays etc, which is why I find memory sticks (flash drives) so handy. This is the most recent flash drive I purchased, and it was £6.99 from Play with free delivery. According to Play, the RRP of this particular flash drive is RRP £10.49 so I saved over £3 which is a nice little bonus. The flash drive is quite average looking and is blue in colour. I was a little dissapointed that there wasn't a variety of colours to choose from but seeing as it's only a memory stick it doesn't really matter ... more

    Advantages Advantages Cheap

Disadvantages Disadvantages Not the quickest transfer speeds

I was primarily attracted by the rather exceptional price for this Play.com flash drive as getting 8gb of storage for the very low price of £6.99 is pretty good and the reviews on Play.com were largely positive with only a couple of minor negative points being raised, also I have owned a very similar looking drive before and never had any problems with it apart from losing the top. I only came across the flash drive from a promotional Play.com email. It is a blue plastic flash drive with a removable lid, it is about 6cm in length and a decent size making it easier to find in my bag. It is not ... more

The Play.com 8GB Flash Drive is a very good value flash drive, I bought mine for £6.99 from, well obviously play.com and have found it to be a very reliable device that has never let me down. The flash drive itself comes in a cheap looking and very cheap feeling transparent blue case with a fully detachable lid which when in use can be simply placed at the other end to avoid losing it. To be honest I don’t consider looks to be a priority when it comes to a flash drive I am more interested in reliability and value for money and in both areas this device delivers. Ii have noticed that it doesn’t ... more
