I wrote an opinion on Blackstar well over a year ago now and although I was happy enough at the time, this is only because I hadn't discovered Play247.com. Blackstar used to be very reasonable and offered free delivery and then overnight they changed. All of a sudden I was being asked to pay delivery charges and videos, that were previously cheaper to buy from Blackstar than any retail outlet, became more expensive.

Well thankfully someone has stepped in to fill the void left by Blackstar and they are the one and only Play247.com. I stumbled across Play247 when I bought a multi-region DVD player. Obviously I was interested in getting some region 1 DVD to use with my new player and someone recommended Play247. I had found many sites on the internet offering multiregion DVDs but all had lengthy delivery times and high prices. It was like a breath of fresh air when I tried Play247. All prices were in pounds, delivery time was usually 24 hours and there was no delivery charge. Yes, I did have to pinch myself to make sure I wasn't deraming. Of course I thought this is too good to be true so I thought I'd try them out.

I ordered 2 region 1 (US) titles which both said
would ship within 24 hours. I paid £15 each for them and no delivery charge whatsoever. The 2 films I ordered had only just come out in the UK Cinema so and when they eventually came out on region 2 (UK) DVD they were around the £20 mark so not only would I get these films early, I was saving aswell. Well they arrived a day later to my significant amazement. The order was complete, no mistakes and in a timely manner. What more could you ask from an online retailer. I tried the DVD movies and they worked without any problem at all. Since then I have used them for movies, games and even Music CDs. My only gripe is sometimes they are out of stock of an item and it can take 1-2 weeks to restock, however you would know this before you order so it's up to you if you want to wait. Other sites don't tell you until after you order and then you have no option but to wait.
I can confidently say that I have saves hundreds of pounds by using Play247 and saved consdierable grief that I would have had fighting my way through high street shoppers. Do yourself a favour and enter the stress free world of Play247!
