“Play at it's best”

Great for Creative Play

Have to be careful not to lose small parts

Trying to select an appropriate toy for a young child is never easy. The selection available in most toyshops is huge, and many toys may seem equally appealing to a child when they are piled up on the shelves of a shop. However, as most parents know, toys which looked so wonderful in the toyshop...

Fantastic play scenarios

Lots of little bits

As I work in Early Years Education and was a lover of playmobil as a child, this is both my personal and professional opinion of Playmobil. I remember playing with playmobil when I was young and loved it! I always think if you have good memories of a toy from your childhood that it is a good...

Tiny parts that go missing

Playmobil is among one of the most well known names in our family, we have one nephew who sleeps, eats and dreams Playmobil. He is going on five now and every birthday, Christmas or other special occasion puts Playmobil at the top of the list. I have to be totally honest and say that although it...

Easy to lose tiny pieces

My son has always been extraordinarily interested in pretend play, so when he seemed to be moving beyond Fisher Price's Little People, I went on the hunt for something a little more advanced for him. That's when we discovered Playmobil. ***What Is Playmobil?*** Playmobil is basically a whole...

Limited only by the imagination

some parts are just a bit too small

In my attic and some of my cupboards I have a great selection of Playmobil sets which my son played with for years. I've also passed some on to nephews and nieces, but kept the best to pass on to any grandchildren. The Camper Van The White and Yellow Van has been driven round my living rooms (...

“PLAY DAY!”

Hours Of Enjoyment

Price

Playmobil, I remember this when I was younger. I seem to visualise an Esso garage and you had to build it. I prefer this to lego though lego almost definitely had its quirks, too, perhaps more so than Playmobil, but this is what the review is about and I'm sticking to my roots. One of the main...

Excellent variety of playsets

Quite expensive

I remember Playmobil from when my brother was little. He loved it to bits, and for a few years he was always bought it for Christmas and birthdays. We've just started to buy it again for our eldest son. He absolutely loves it. So far we have one of the castle sets, and the Florashop. My mum has...

If you are over the age of 35 you will remember when 'Playmobil' was called 'Playpeople' this was because between 1976 and 1980, Playmobil was licensed by Louis Marx & Co Ltd in the UK and the toys were assembling in Swansea and sold under the brand name 'Playpeople'. In 1980 Louis Marx & Co Ltd was forced into Receivership. 'Playmobil UK Ltd' was set up to import the toys from Germany, and 'Playmobil' was launched in the UK in 1981.

Imaginative, Fun, Colourful, Educational

Messy (if you are a parent)

Or was that just in our family. I have grown up with plymobil characters, as have my younger siblings and our friends. What better way to while away rainy days than to spread the 2 inch smiley faced characters with their changeable spiky fringed hair and their bodies which bend in the middle, all...

“Recycle truck 3121”

Teaches dexterity

Parental nightmare - too many bits !!

We bought this for my eldest son who was 4 last christmas, and I ended up putting it away. The whole truck just kept coming apart and I must have reassembled it 20 times. The pieces are very small and fiddly and get lost easily. The lightbox broke, and I ordered another, whcih Playmobil supplied...
