Hello, Fat Tony here, your friendly neighborhood gangster man. Yesterday, after a hard day of busting caps and boxing beats, I saw that a good friend of mine was feeling down. She's had a bad weekend. She's been incredible to me over the past few months, and wrote a very lovely poem for me which can be found at my MySpace.
After chatting to her for a while, I decided it'd be nice if I wrote a poem to show how much I love her as a friend, and how much I appreciate her. So, I came up with this. It's entitled simply, "A Poem".
Please bear in mind it's my first ever poem.... I'm more of a "There was a young blank from blank" guy, so... be nice ;-)

A POEM
I wanted to write a poem, write a poem just for you For blue you seem to be and all you seem to be is blue But poems aren't my strength, they aren't my strength and that is true Never the less, here is a poem, here's a poem just for you
When I was down you wrote one for me, wrote for me whilst I was down Then as Russell Brand you walked beside me, walked beside me round the town You spent the whole time laughing, only laughing, not a frown Even when I had a cramp in leg, that cramp made me fall down
It really sucks to see you sad, seeing you sad just really sucks I would take that sadness away from you, if sadness passed the buck A trucker driving in a cab is just a driver driving trucks We'll sit in the back of the cab and quack like we were ducks
You have chickens, finger licking chickens you do not possess For your chickens are too awesome, far too awesome to digest Even though I really love chickens, over chickens I obsess With a mind that's like a peanut, it's not really hard to guess
I reckon if we were both monkey, were both monkeys, both with fleas We'd sit eating each others insects, we'll nit-pick them with ease Then we'd eat ants, and we'd eat spiders, while those spider's eat the bees And we'd swing through the jungle like the jungle was trapeze
Or we could each be dolphins, dolphins swimming out at sea Discussing if the sea is blue, or if the sea is green And we'd go bum rush the sharks, because the sharks are always mean They'd be looking at us two saying "How beautiful is she!"
Or we could both be turkey hawks, just hawking through the air And land and find some dinner, find enough dinner to share Although then we would have cold feet, since our feet would both be bare But when you're fifty feet above the ground, I doubt you'll really care
Or maybe we'd be aliens, aliens from outer space I can't pronounce what our planet is called, it's just too far away For now we'll call it Sibby, call it Sibby-loo-loo-ay We'd have our own little spacecraft, named OMG NO WAi
I'll be dreaming of the monkeys, and the dolphins, this is true And the hawks and aliens, from the great Sibby-Loo-Loo But most importantly, this is important, it's the truth I'll spend my times dreaming of poems, poems I could write for you
I watched you tonight as you slumbered,
your face smooth, and handsome,
untroubled by haunting dreams.
You murmered quietly,
your lips, soft and plump, beckoning me closer to you.
I kissed you gently,
feeling the warmth of your body
flowing through our lips,
flooding my body with its hunger.
I gazed at you, still adrift in your own world.
You smiled, so tenderly,
and I felt my heart bursting.
The love I felt was pure, innocent,
untainted ... ...we had wasted,
in anger and bitterness,
wounding each other with words
far sharper than any blade.
Was I there with you, in your dreams?
Was it my lips that you kissed,
two lovers embraced as one?
You opened your eyes then,
and reached out to me.
I lay my head on your chest,
listening the rhythm of your heart,
strong and comforting, as you told me of your dream, about us.

Just another poem from my past. I love very much this poem, even if i don't really know if in the english transaltion it can be good.
I had a poem award, some years ago for this poem, in a poetry contest. I was really glad to have it!

In the past my poetry efforts have been pretty much limited to the occasional funny verse knocked up for others amusement, and the thought of trying to write any prose that was remotely serious or sensible would have filled me with dread. As you can imagine I am extremely nervous about posting this effort for others to read and critique, so please be gentle with me dear reader, but more than that please be honest with me in any ratings or comments ... ...verse but then life can sometimes be the same.

...so I’m putting this under poems of love. There are three in all, I hope you will bear with me; this will be a long review. One is a definite poem of love, one is to friendship, and the other is love of the earth.
This first one is a poem for a friend that is going through a hard time. I wrote it especially for her last night. It can easily be for other of my “buddies” and anyone feeling low.
Don’t Despair.
When life is getting hard and the going ... ...as life is oh so tough.
Remember all the good things, the things that make you smile,
All the happy memories you have, that makes life so worthwhile.
Into every person’s life, there comes a time to laugh and cry,
The darkest time of night that leaves you wondering why
What have you done to suffer so, how can you soon regain

Tell me where you were,
When they cried out in the night?
I was right there beside them,
With my strong paternal light.
And tell me where you were,
When they did not smell too sweet?
I was armed with a nappy,
And tickling tiny feet.
And so were you around,
When they took those tiny paces?
I was holding out my arms,
I was counting out the spaces.
What about that odd first day,
They had to go to school?
I was standing by the gates,

Cause the world was oh-so bad?
I was talking to them softly,

Love is this feeling

Advantages: Written by me! Disadvantages: none its genius (im joking...)
Hey guys I wrote this poem and entered it into a poetry competition and it got published. Admitedly so did about 600 others but its still good knowing someone in the world is going to read it in a book. The book, which the poem was in, (immortal verses), is huge physically and is supposedly a coffee table book despite been massive!
The competition I entered is on www.poetry.com, where you can enter poems for free and they annually give prizes out for the best ones. I was so pleased when I got a letter saying it was going to be published, but then reality dawned that so were loads of others in tiny microscopic print on a page with about 50 others.
You can also read my poem on the website 'www.poetry.com' and enter 'ben gamble' in the search for poets section, the poems called 'Pure White Love'. If you wanted also you could also get ...
