You would need to read Jessica Farrels latest poem to understand this review, I mean not to offend but only to tell the story from another point of view

Why do you hit out at me, throw stones, call names
There are bad people in all comunities
In all races and social standings
I understand your experiences have been bad,
but do you know me?
Who am I?

My gran fled a bad relationship where she was beaten every day
raped by her own husband, there was only one escape
To flee the country and take her children with her
On entering the U.K she was treated like a criminal,
but they were kinder once they understood her reasons for leaving her home.
Wheather Black, White, Packistani or green fear is the same.

The customs are different here to what they are used to
They have never seen a girls legs and shoulders on show
it's against their religion, I can't even buy a loaf of bread,
ask for the nearest public toilet because I don't know how.

I am rushed to hospital in agony, i have a stomach ulcer
I point to my stomach to show where the pain is
The doctor thinks it's indegestion and sends me home.

I've just arrived in England and am not allowed to work yet
My family will starve, I am offered help until I can get a job
Yes it feels like charity, at home I had my own house and farm
I had to leave them behind because I was frightened
My family and I have come this far. I can't let them starve because I am too proud to accept handouts.

I know that I will be frowned upon even when I do find work
I admit there are bad people who have abused the NHS and government of the U.K. Many of your own people have done the same but are they persecuted for claiming disability when they are clearly well? working cash in hand but claiming Housing benefit, Council Tax and Income Support?

Maybe they are frowned upon but that does not mean that everyone of the same culture is doing the same thing does it?
I just want to work and support my family, when I can I will
until then would you really see my 2 children under 5 starve and be without a roof?

Have you ever wanted to move to another country? What if you had to leave everything you knew and loved behind?
If the country you moved to offered your family a better way of life would you take it?
Or would you let your children starve.

Yes I understand that people take advantage of the U.K's generosity.
I am not people, I am me.
