My view on poetry is a little mixed, and to analyse it would be very difficult to say the least. However I do think that poetry is something that comes from within a persons inner mind wanderings; that can be something that maybe someone has seen or encountered, or something that maybe someone has strong views on, to which they like to express in a way that can be viewed and enjoyed by someone else, or they may use it as a way of getting something accross to people. Alot of people have views on all types of things, and sometimes people tend not to want to bring such views up, maybe from fear of being shunned or laughed at, or even hated really badly; whereas by use of poetry it is a good way of expressing soemthing that more people will read remember and not be too affended. ...well maybe!
Here is another one of my poems, I don't know what inspired me to write this one, but here it anyway!
A New Leaf
Wobble wobble goes Mrs Bobble up and down she walks on the cobble so drunk is she she can barely see as she thrusts her hips forward and laughs with glee
Her noes is red and she feels like her bed sniff some more as shes ready to score £40 a time she swigs some more wine throws her head back and laughs like a cheshire cat
As she waits a car comes near she hitches up her dress and shows off her rear the car then stops and a man winds down his window He asks for a price and off they go
They go off Into the night She suddenly starts to feel uptight It was somthing he had said That she couldnt get out of her head no more she would walk the streets at night what was she doing with her life
she returns his money and tells him thanks as she runs back home and waters the plants She picks up the paper to look for a job her head feels heavy and starts to bob backwards and forwards and from side to side the gap between reality seemed so wide
In the morning she rose with the paper in her lap she jumped right up and began to clap clap with joy and clap with elation that she had given up the game and took vacation vacation from what had become her vice The relief that she felt was really nice
As she browsed through the now crumpled paper she mangaed to see a vacancy for a machine operator her interview got her the job as expected she now earns an honest living and feels really respected

An interesting poem. I particularly like the opening verse.

There are some catchy lines in the verse, but I believe this category is intended more for analysing poetry rather than writing it, so don't feel I can justify more than an H. Duncan

Advantages: This is poetry that sings. TS Eliot was a master of the language. Disadvantages: Eliot was often purposely obscure, showing off his education
