I've been hmm-ing and haa-ing about posting this for a while. Until now I have guarded this very jealously.

Last year I was fortunate enough to marry the most wonderful woman and to go that extra mile I decided that not only would I do one of the readings at the ceremony myself but I would also write it. No great shakes you say, but although I love writing I have never really got to grips with poetry. And I didn't want it to descend into sugary sentement so I went for a more lighthearted (and even silly) approach.

I don't think it came off too bad. My wife said she loved it, my Mum cried despite promising she wouldn't and the lady doing the ceremony asked if she could keep it to use at other weddings! I think everyone was just being polite so I would love to get some feedback from my trusted fellow ciao-ers.

So, imagine me standing there in my enormous frock coat in front of all our family and friends, nervous as you like and I deliver this....

I THINK......

~
When I think of something nice
I think of sharing it with you
And I would like to think
You'd want to share it with me too
~
When I think of somewhere I want to go
I want to take you with me
Be it just around the corner
Or all the way to Sydney
~
I'm thinking of you constantly
You help me to unwind
Even though you must be tired
From all that running through my mind
~
I may be getting a beer belly
And sometimes I'm over-zealous
You've got more hair than I have
But it doesn't make me jealous
~
And if you catch me staring
I'm just trying to guess your weight
Because if I could only do that
Then I'd win you at a fete
~
When I wake up feeling happy
It is all because of you
You don't have to say anything
It's just the little things you do
~
And when I feel in love
It's all because I have you
And now that we are man and wife
I can't help thinking what we'll do...?

You should not be embarrassed. Goodness me, take a look at some of my stuff. If I am not embarrassed, you have no reason to be !!!! These are feelings. Feelings are good.
