I wrote this before I met my husband - I hope you like it - it was at a time in my life when I was 'with' someone who I knew there was no chance of a relationship with as niether of us were really ready after brutal divorces, but we found solace and a certain kind of love and passion in each other.

Anticipation keeps her high for days
Aftermath ensures her mood remains
She longs for his touch in the days between
Then they meet, their passion keen
She comes alive with his kiss, his touch
He seems to want her just as much

here they are, wrapped in ecstasy
She is lost to all but him
his smell, his touch
bodies melding in absolute union
as their lips meet time and again
hearts beat against one another
Intensity forcing all but THEM into distant recesses of mind
Sighs as the magic starts to recede
They begin to wake, flushed, breathless, jubilant
Reluctant, that final parting, both with a groan of regret
But none lasting

Until the next time

No promises uttered or jealousies claimed
Their ardor doesn't look to fade
The world around them disappears
As they abandon all worth tears
And lose themselves in each other
The moonlit night the perfect cover

They are lovers.
