As you may have noticed in my most recent profile picture, I was maid of honour for my best friend Issy and her husband James at their wedding in September. My fiance was also best man, and having not been allowed to listen to any of his speech before the big day, I couldn't help but pen this little poem to go in their wedding card.

When it came to the actual day, I spoke to my fiance who kindly allowed me to read my poem out to the family gathered at the reception as a sort of toast at the end of his speech, which meant a lot to me as I felt it showed how much the pair mean to both of us. So here it is!...The Best Man and Bridesmaid this way sends
Love and congratulations to our two best friends.
The years we’ve known you may yet be few,
So we are honoured with our parts in your saying “I do!”

Though you both have each other, you will always have us,
Be assured we would travel by plane train or bus
To be by your side in your hour of need,
And offer our help with the greatest of speed.

So here’s to your future, and more fun and games
With our best friends, the Mosleys, Issy and James.
