an elite task force who protect Pokmon. Players can become a fully-fledged Pokmon Ranger by being invited to Fall City to learn from Spenser, one of the top Ranger leaders. As they embark on the life of a licensed Ranger, players will learn to use the powers of captured wild Pokemon to solve problems, help people and protect nature from adverse effects. As a player begins the adventure they select either Lunick (male) or Solana (female) as their chosen character. They are then transported to the Rangers Base where they will receive a series of exciting and challenging missions to complete. As experience is gained, the missions increase in importance. The Ranger is pitted against the Go-Rock Squad in an attempt to recover Professor Hastings' stolen Super Styler - the newly developed version of the Capture Styler used to hold wild Pokmon. The Rangers don't embark on their epic journey alone. To help them along their way they are also accompanied by a single partner Pokmon. This helpful friend will remain with them at all times aiding the all important relationship between the Ranger and captured wild Pokmon, whose power they will need to harness in the challenges ahead of them. For the first time in a Pokemon game, players can control the Pokemon Ranger using only the Nintendo DS touch screen. To capture a valuable wild Pokmon the player must draw circles round their target with the stylus, though this challenge varies depending on the size and power of the Pokmon. Once captured, the Ranger's partner Pokmon facilitates the use of the wild Pokmon's powers to solve problems and clear obstacles that they might encounter.A wild Pokmon's powers aren't available forever though. The player must choose the right moment to use the power because once used, the Pokmon is released back into the wild. A captured Pokmon can help a player by providing either a Pok Assist or a Field Move. In a Pok Assist a player can use an already captured Pokmon to capture another. In Field Move the Pokmon is used to clear an obstacle in the new Ranger's path.As the game progresses, the Ranger's Capture Styler, used to hold the wild Pokmon, becomes more powerful. This provides more energy (Meter) allowing more Pokmon to be held with them at any one time. The wild Pokmon captured all provide different powers, depending on the group they belong to. Groups available include Grass, Fire, Electric, along with many more. As the game progresses, the challenge of capturing the correct Pokmon becomes increasingly strategic with various group match-up advantages and disadvantages influencing their assistance to the player. The fun doesn't end with the main mission either, with numerous sub-quests available giving players the opportunity to meet and capture legendary Pokmon like Kyogre, Groudon and Rayquaza. With these and over 200 other Pokmon waiting to be caught, completing your Browser will be no easy task. Do you have what it takes to 'Catch em all' and earn the Certificate of Completion. Pokémon Ranger is set in the Fiore Reigion (A Reigon where you'll find all the rangers mostly). Your ambition is to become a Ranger, and that dream comes true when you go to Ringtown and your dream comes true. However, there is a sinister team named the Go-Rock Squad, and at the start, you are not told much about them unless you progress through the game, gaining ranks and styler experience. Everybody in the Fiore reigon do not keep their Pokemon in Pokeballs, so that means its easy for people's pokemon to run off, meaning you have to rescue them back.
In the game, you can capture wild pokemon using your styler, and use them to help capture other Pokemon with their unique power they have depending on their type. For e.g.
Pichu, Pikachu & Raichu would recharge your Stylus Tangela would help you cross over things if there is something for them to grab over Your Miniun or Plusle (which you get at the start, depending on your gender: Male = Miniun & Female = Plusle) will help you shock the Pokemon, paralyzing it for a few seconds, depending on their type Etc.
As the game progresses, you sometimes are on missions to capture rare pokemon, like Entei, Suicune, Raikou, Kyogre, Groudon, and Rayquaza. Also, if you complete the game, you can do extra missions to capture other hard to catch rare pokemon, and a capture arena!
It's all good fun but sometimes it gets too hard and frustrating and you decide to turn off for a bit and then come back on, like i did when i played it.
A film was made based on this in 2006 in Japan and 2007 in USA named: Pokemon Ranger and the Temple of the Sea, and if you unlock the mission, you can get a manaphy egg and transfer it to Pokemon Diamond/Pearl.
A sequel game has been made and was released in Japan in March and is due to be released in America in November called: Pokémon Ranger: Shadows of Almia which is set in a new area named Almia. Like in the previous game, the player can choose to be a male or female character, however unlike the original, this choice does not affect the selection of the player's partner Pokémon.
I rated the game 4/5 as it's fun, enjoyable, and in some cases, keeps your hands fit and healthy :P

Advantages: New Gameplay, New Storylines, Unlockable Content Disadvantages: Too Much Text To Read
Pokemon has had many different games before from Pokemon Pinball, Pokemon Snap and the regular Pokemon games. However, with the Nintendo DS Touch Screen, new possibilities are now on the horizon and Pokemon Ranger is one of these.
Instead of clicking a couple of buttons and watching your animated character throw a pokeball, you must use the new technology that is the Capture Styler to capture Pokemon by drawing complete rings around them. Easy you ... ...a Salamence, the powerful dragon Pokemon requires a colossal 24 rings in a third of the seconds. This is very hard considering Salamence fires flames at you which break your Capure Styler and should your Capture Styler lose all it's health, you must restart the game from your last checkpoint.
Along with the new way to capture Pokemon, you have a new storyline, with you being a Pokemon Ranger, a sort of Poke Policeman whose job it is to help look ...

Advantages: New fresh storylines Disadvantages: Not quite the legend the others were
Well…It didn’t take long for Nintendo to ship out another Pokémon game. They released Pokémon Mystery Dungeon not too long ago and then they released this game. After seeing Pokémon Mystery Dungeon I was really about to give up on Pokémon. However after playing this game, my thoughts about that had changed.
This game is not your typical Pokémon adventure. This game is based around Pokémon rangers, and anyone who has seen the latest Pokémon movie, ... ...have not seen it then a Pokémon ranger basically keeps order in communities. Rangers have a nice little tool called a styler. This little device allows them to capture Pokémon and control them, it is different to a Pokeball as the creature does not go into a ball, the ranger wraps an energy string around the creature and then captures it that way.
In this story, you start off as a normal person and correspond with a ranger leader. You meet up with ...

...much of a game. Unlike pokemon pearl and diamond, the story mode doesn't play out so that you can travel anywhere you want within a region, but sticks to a straight path untill you reach the end. The game is set in the Fiore region, Completely sperate from Kanto, Johto or hoenn much like The Orre region was in pokemon colleseum but there arn't any new pokemon apart from the Pokemon diamond and pearl ones (And manphy).
Fiore is located quite some ... ...spot of Fiore, hence ice pokemon appearing there, including the legendary Regice. It leads to Wintown, located on the foot of the Sekra Range. The Sekra Range is a 6500-foot-high mountain range that is notable for having a waterfall that can "fill the Capture Arena 23 times in one minute"; housing the Go-Rock Squad's base; a house high up where the residents inside will recharge the player's Styler; "Shiftree", a tree where five Shiftry live in and ...

Advantages: Slique, easy to use, all around beautiful Disadvantages: Hardly any sport games
First thing I love this console.
It is slique, cool and absolutely beautiful.
Compared to the normal DS lite they made it so much better and gave it a better shape.
The reason I love the NintendoDS is because it is a touch screen. This makes it very interactive, the different games that you get allow you to do different things on the touch screen.
Such things like in PokemonRanger you can catch pokemon by drawing a circle around the pokemon. Or in Cooking mama 2: cooking with friends. You can use the stylus and touch screen to cut, grater, stir, break etc food.
The amount of games you can play on this system is phenominal. All different games: sports, adventure, action, puzzles, even brain puzzlers like Big Brain Acadamy.

Manufacturer's product description
Pok'mon Ranger is unlike any Pok'mon game you've played before. You control your character using the stylus and all Pok'mon are captured using a Capture Styler instead of a Pok' Ball. Since you're a Pok'mon Ranger and not a trainer you must release each captured Pok'mon back into the wild after they help you. It's a whole new way to explore the Pok'mon universe! The Capture Styler is the tool a Pok'mon Ranger uses to capture Pok'mon in the wild. When you touch a wild Pok'mon a battle begins. Using your stylus you must circle the wild Pok'mon a set number of times to capture it. Sounds easy right? Wrong! Most Pok'mon won't be captured without a fight. Some Pok'mon are so difficult to capture that you'll need to call on the help of Pok'mon you've already captured. This is called a Pok' Assist. When you execute a Pok' Assist the helper Pok'mon's power is transferred to your Capture Styler and provides assistance in a number of ways.
