    Advantages Advantages Fantastic Mini-Games

Disadvantages Disadvantages Too Short and Little Variation

Pokémon - not the most loved franchise of 2002, to say the least. After it was milked like a cow, with games such as Pokémon Trading Card game and Pokémon Pinball popping up everywhere, gamers everywhere got a bit sick of Nintendo not coming up with any kind of new franchise. But although nowadays people either love it or they hate it, no one can deny that in its time, it was the most addictive games known to man. Training up cute little pets to kill and destroy their foes made you feel so proud. But after training and training and getting all 150 of the little critters, it became more of a ... more

Advantages Advantages Good multiplayer fun, has support to play B/R/Y on your TV, has a wide variety of Pokemon.

Disadvantages Disadvantages Team battles can be annoying, AI can be extremely hard in mini-games.

Pokemon Stadium was the first in a long line of 3d battle arena Pokemon games. The games primary focus is putting together the ultimate Pokemon team and beating your opponents as you progress through the leagues. This is aided by the fact that the player can transfer his Pokemon from Pokemon Blue, Red and Yellow into the game, through use of the N64's Transfer Pak. I was however slightly disappointed to learn, that fighting with your GB Pokemon in Pokemon Stadium will not level them up. Another big feature of Pokemon Stadium is the in-built emulator it has, allowing users to play Pokemon Blue ... more

Advantages Advantages Pokeom battles look more amazing

Disadvantages Disadvantages Might get boring quickly

Pokemon Stadium is the first Pokemon game on the N64. It is basically an enhanced version of the excellent turn-based battles of the original game, except this time its in 3D. The battles in Pokemon Red and Blue were simple looking but great fun. The attacks didn’t look that great, with just simple animations and sound effects. This game hopes to undo that though, as it has made all 151 Pokemon 3D, all of which have their own characteristics and animations. The graphics in this game are just amazing. Every attack in the GameBoy games is in here, and looking great. For example, the surf ... more

    Advantages Advantages The Mini Games!

Disadvantages Disadvantages The annoying voiceover on the main game, the slow action, that the mini games aren't available separately!

Buy it for the mini-games alone! To be honest, I was not *that* impressed with the main game, and at 50 quid, it would have to be pretty darn impressive for me to shell out for it (as opposed to playing it on someone else’s N64 as I do now!) However, if the Mini Games were available separately, I wouldn’t hesitate to cough up the “currrching”. Don’t get me wrong, the graphics on the main game are excellent, and the ability to upload your existing trained Pokémon from your Game Boy (via a Transfer Pak) to fight on Pokémon Stadium is a good feature. The problem I ... more

    Advantages Advantages great for children

Disadvantages Disadvantages lack of control, potentially mind-numbing

After spending most of Boxing day playing 'Pokémon Stadium' I fear that I know just a bit too much about the hybrid little creatures. My 5 year old nephew was given a N64 and this game for christmas and it was a brilliant investment as it kept him (and me- spared me from the after dinner games of charades anyway)occupied during all of the family gatherings. I admit it- I was perhaps a bit too eager to play too. The game is colourful and simple enough, ideal for youngsers and people who have no idea about N64s (ie. me)who will find it a good way of learning, as it requires hardly any skill ... more
