...The polar F6 is watch combining an ECG standard heart rate monitor (this means the accuracy is comparable with an ECG but it doesn’t provide the whole functionality of one. The unit will not detect irregular rhythms or other problems ).
I guess a few of you are wondering what I am doing with one of these possibly unsightly things. I bought my first one a couple of years just after I was diagnosed as diabetic following pancreatic surgery. Diabetes has quite a lot of unpleasant risks associated with it such as hardening of the arteries and raised cholesterol which can lead to strokes and heart conditions such as angina and heart attacks ; Degeneration of the nerves and poor circulation in the legs leading to foot ulceration and infection; Kidney disease and eye problems. I don’t know about you but I don’t much fancy any of them...

...The Polar M32 is one of many Polar heart monitors available to very keen sports people. They are useful, also, to us geriatrics who decide to exercise more than we used to, and are rightly anxious about whether or not our hearts are about to rebel at the sudden stresses being applied.
They are also quite attractive to gadget freaks and those determined to persuade others that the daily trips to David Lloyd's are more than just a passing fad.!
Each monitor has slightly different functions - and prices. If you are going to invest about £80 for one of these machines, you need to check which is most suitable.
Do you need it on under water? Will more than one person in the family use it? and so on.

Advantages: Its extremely energy efficient, you can wash lots of plates, pans, glasses etc all at once, it has lots of features you never knew you needed but couldn't live without. Disadvantages: None
