Disadvantages Disadvantages almost nothing, but read the paragraph on it

Update: Thanks to this watch my exercises became more effective and I managed to lose 70% of my targeted weight loss in 4 months. I use it for a while, it still looks like new and there was no need for battery change. Really recommended stuff! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ I'd like to write a cracking review on my new Polar F6 heart rate monitor watch and I hope I will be able to cover all its features and its benefits. Before I start to review my watch I have to tell that I ordered the black female version ... more

Advantages Advantages helps you get the best exercise in the least time

Disadvantages Disadvantages aren't enough functions for an athlete or a fitness junkie

The polar F6 is watch combining an ECG standard heart rate monitor (this means the accuracy is comparable with an ECG but it doesn’t provide the whole functionality of one. The unit will not detect irregular rhythms or other problems ). I guess a few of you are wondering what I am doing with one of these possibly unsightly things. I bought my first one a couple of years just after I was diagnosed as diabetic following pancreatic surgery. Diabetes has quite a lot of unpleasant risks associated with it such as hardening of the arteries and raised cholesterol which can lead to strokes and heart ... more

Advantages Advantages Could eliminate wasteful time spent exercising

Disadvantages Disadvantages Don't use it anymore, not an esential item.

I'm a bit of a fitness freak and enjoy the benefits of doing exercise and feeling good but confess to lacking in knowledge on the technology front, so I'm never first in the queue when anything new comes on the market. Therefore I surprised myself when I started looking into a Heart Rate Monitor. A heart rate monitor is just that, it monitors your heart rate whilst you exercise. The idea of buying the HRM was to monitor my time spent exercising and to maintain my optimum target zone. The purpose of getting this zone right is crucial to anyone wanting to maintain a steady (healthy) weight. To ... more

Advantages Advantages Well constructed watch, and heart strap. Numerous features

Advantages Advantages Good price, lots of functions.

Disadvantages Disadvantages Chest strap can move around a little

Being the first Heart rate monitor I have owned, it's tricky for me to compare with others. I train Mixed Martial Arts, work out at the gym, jog and generally stay pretty active. I've always enjoyed reading about sport science and after reading an article on improving my cardio I decided to give it a try. Firstly, the package includes the manual, chest strap (which you must wear for it to pick up a heart beat) and watch. The features I use on the watch are; Heart rate monitoring, shown in percentages or bpm. Ownzone - Polar's program for allowing you to caculate what Bpm you should be ... more
