Just over a year ago I felt the need to buy a new watch. My old model was very old and had multiple scratches, some very deep. I like wearing jewellery and normally tend to wear golden items. Having had a brief look online, I went to various jewellery stores in my local town centre. I find that wearing and seeing something in the flesh provides a much more realistic feeling that simply an image online.

Man, I feel like a woman!

Just over a year ago I felt the need to buy a new watch. My old model was very old and had multiple scratches, some very deep. I like wearing jewellery and normally tend to wear golden items. At the time I wore a unique gold bracelet and ring. My previous watch had gold elements to it so they all matched. Therefore I found myself biased towards gold watches. The criterion was not that the watch must be gold, but it must also be different and stand out, but not excessively.

Having had a brief look online, I went to various jewellery stores in my local town centre. I find that wearing and seeing something in the flesh provides a much more realistic feeling that simply an image online.

After seeing a variety of watches, one had caught my eye. However it was not gold, but I really did like it. I made a mental note to come back if I did not find anything decent elsewhere. I didn't find anything and returned to the store.

As you can see from the image, the watch is aesthetically appealing. Some may thing it is over the top, however I think it is just right. I feel comfortable wearing at all times and feel that it is acceptable to wear whatever the occasion. Since my purchase, many people have commented on the watch, much to my pleasure.

Before writing this review I searched for an image of the watch. I searched Google Images but was unable to find anything and tried visiting the online version of the shop I had bought it from, H Samuel.

Upon my search, I found the watch within minutes. Having clicked the image, I was taken to the description of the watched. I was shocked at what I found.
The watch was labelled "Police Ladies' Stone-set Bracelet Watch"
The description was as follows "Police, the fabulous fashion brand favoured by top celebrities, has a fantastic range of watches in its signature style. This gorgeous ladies' watch combines a sleek, sophisticated black case with the glamorous sparkle of the stones set on the face."
I don't disagree with their description of the watch whatsoever, I think that it's a reasonable description for a product that is hard to sell in the form of text. I was more concerned about the mention of ladies! So for over a year I have been proudly wearing this watch not knowing that it is aimed at females. If some of my friends knew this, I would most certainly be teased about this (hint: so only me and you know, ok?).

Back to the watch

Some people may say that I can be careless, and I must admit that at times I can be. I have always been worried of purchasing expensive jewellery in fear that within days I may damage or scratch it. This case was no different, and I asked myself would I be able to look after something so pretty and shiny, and I convinced myself that I was a big boy now and went through with it. I had a few links removed free of charge in order for it to fit and for a cost of £110 I was the proud owner of a ladies watch. The watch came in a nice sturdy box.
Considering that this is aimed at the female population I feel that the face is rather large. I have big hands and find the watch complements it. It is certainly different and stands out. As of yet there are not scratches to the watch face although the metallic strap does have minor scratches on it. Changing the time is standard, pull the button out, located on the side of the watch, and turn! The clip on the strap is commonly found on men's watches, where it over laps and clicks into place. To open the clip you simply push two buttons on the outer side and its unlocked.
Although there are no numbers printed on the face other than a large 3, I do not find it difficult to tell the time, I don't even notice that it has no numbers to be honest. One issue that I have experienced is under low light conditions where spot lighting is used, such as in bars or nightclubs. This is due to the shininess of the stones and can become difficult to tell the time, especially since the dials are silver and the time of the day tends to be late when your out drinking, and so the dials are usually around the right hand side of the face. Other than this I have not negative points to say about this watch.

Nothing would suggest that this is not for a man.

Overall I fell that this is a well built product and would certainly recommend it.

Regardless of the fact that this is a ladies watch, I will continue to wear it.
