I am a would be luvvie. I haven't actually acted in a play for quite a number of years but the theatrical spirit is there. And so is the quantity of slap.
I remember in the dressing room with Larry (the caretaker not that famous bloke) when the mascara was an inch thick and foundation was like concrete, he said, "Mellie, be a good girl and use some of this to rid your fair skin of that muck." [He was very poetic our Larry]. And to this day I have used the very same potion, known in elite circles as:
I buy mine from Pharmacy2U for £4.20 for a 100ml jar, this lasts me about 2 months because I don't always go about looking like Liz Taylor.
My mother used Ponds on her skin and it is a well established and renowned brand affiliated with Elida Faberge. We have never had cause to complain but should you want to those Pondlife (hahaha) can be found at; FREEPOST, Admail 1000, London, SW1A 2XX or telephone them on 0800591720 or write to them at: Consumer Bureau, Freepost, Leeds, LS14 2YT
The packaging is simple and distinct in a white plastic jar with the name and emblem (I remember when the jars were made of china - not very good for travelling.)
Now the selling point of this cleanser is that it does so without drying your skin out. If you are prone to greasy skin, then this is probably not the cleanser for you. If you are like me and have dry skin or wear foundation, this is the business. It has a thick consistency rather like whipped cream or thick yoghurt and a distinctive, perfumed smell that is subtle rather than astringent.
It spreads easily over your face with fingers and is visible. I use soft toilet tissue to remove the cream and find that two applications suffices to remove even the heaviest camoflage. You can use cotton wool or even a flannel and warm water. The best thing about it is that your skin feels moisturised as opposed to greasy afterwards and the next morning. If I use those facial wipes or a foaming cleanser my skin dries out and my spots get sore. [Charming visual image - I'm gorgeous really!]
It is very useful for removing children's facepaints - my 4 year old's skin responded well to it. It does say on the box not to use it on the under 3s though.
It is lanolin free but does not say if it is hypoallergenic or tested on bunnies.
I would recommend this classic cleanser to anyone who wants a thorough facial cleanser that leaves your skin soft and moisturised.

I haven't thought about this product for years but after reading your comment (and since my skin has lately been petulantly reacting to the central heating blues) I'm going to hot foot it to Boots the Chemist and seek it out again.
