Weird spelling but a great product
Review of Scotts Porage Oats by sadoldbag

Advantages: cheap, nutritious, healthy, low on packaging, easy to cook, delicious
Disadvantages: none, unless you don't like porridge!

...milk pudding I suppose). Scotts comes in a cardboard package with no metal or plastic attachments so it is dead easy to recycle, and a rather amateurish pouring spout on the side of the packet that isn't brilliantly designed in my view, but the alternative would be a metal spout, which would cost more to manufacture and be harder to deal with recycling-wise, so I'll let them off. You have to tear a sort of cardboard door on the side of the packet, ...
...miking into a crumble topping or something, I find you can get a lot more dust in a cheaper brand than you do with Scotts - the box is full of good, thick solid oat flakes, which make yummy porridge in under five minutes. Perfect fuel for a winter's morning! ... Read review

Warm It, Eat It, Love It!
Review of Weetabix Ready Brek by sportyminx

Advantages: So simple, quick and tasty!
Disadvantages: Can see us go through an awful lot of milk!

...Brek, is made by the Weetabix Food Company, and although my little one does prefer original weetabix and warm milk, I don't think ready brek can be beaten (all the more for me!) It comes in vaious size boxes listed as follows (based on local asda stock!) *500g - £1.48 *750g - £2.02 *sachets 5 x 30g - 99p (as you may have guessed, I buy the big one and much to my delight, last purchase it was on promotion - £1 per box - bought a couple!) This ...
...fortified with vitamins, iron and calcium. and boasts: *Finely milled porridge oats for children *rich in calcium *no added salt or sugar *fortified with vitamins and minerals It is so simple to prepare, guidelines are as follows: 1: MEASURE - 5 heaped dessert spoons (30g) of ready brek into a microwavable bowl 2: MIX IT - with about 150ml of water or milk (tastes best with milk, although if running low or you are a dieter of the world, water ... Quaker Real Fruit Porridge!
Review of Quaker Porridge Oats by LADYFUCHSIA

Advantages: Unique and tasty
Disadvantages: Takes longer to make than a cold cereal

...to cool slightly. When Quaker introduced 'Real Fruit Porridge' I thought 'what the hell?!? how strange!!!' After trying this new variety I would say its an interesting twist to a simple satisfying breakie. This cereal contains sultanas, dates, apple and cinamon along with the standard Quaker oats. Sold in 750g pack it lasts for roughly 6 months - but you'll have finished it long before then. Packaging has the Quaker logo on a blue sky backdrop ...
...facts on the back about Quaker being in business in Cupar, Scotland since 1899. The fact that they use renewable energy sources - probably a wind farm as they use the windmill logo. The fact that oats are wholegrain and that there are no artificial colours, flavours or preservatives. Also a serving contains beta glucan to reduce cholesterol. The cooking instructions are fairly simple but I wouldn't microwave it as they advise - it goes really lumpy!!! ... Read review

Boost your libido!
Review of sainsbury's organic porridge oats (scottish) by anwar

Advantages: see review
Disadvantages: see review

...helps protect cell membranes. Sainsbury's organic porridge oats. ***************************** Sainsbury's organic porridge oats or SO porridge oats for short, are my favourite brand. I have tried other organic porridge oats such as Tesco's, but have found them a bit too course. I don't enjoy eating what taste like husks, with other brands! The sainsbury's brand is smooth and tastes delicious. They are also cheaper than many other brands. Looking ...
...Sainsbury's porridge oats contain 100% organically farmed oats. There is no added sugar or salt and no presevatives. The porridge comes in a green coloured plastic bag. I would prefer a box as I find the oats sometimes spill into my cupboard. Porridge is very easy to make and really doesn't take long. It can be made either on the hob or in a microwave. I prefer to make my porridge on the hob. Simply pour about ½ a cup of porridge and add 1 cup of ... Read review

Too grownup!
Review of Ready Brek Seriously Oaty by filmlover

Advantages: Healthy & tasty
Disadvantages: Not as nice as original Ready Brek

...by Weetabix who also make Ready Brek and in a lot of ways it's very similar. It comes in boxes or boxes of sachets which is quite handy as I take it to work. You get 10 sachets of 30g each in a box. This porridge comes in plain, Honey, and Apple & Raspberry flavours but I've only tried the plain version as the others have lots of sugar and stuff (the plain's much healthier, just cut a banana into it before you put it in the microwave to add flavour). ...
...compared to £1.60 for 8 Ready Brek sachets which is strange as this is the adult version. ~ Verdict ~ I do like a bit of porridge on a cold day, it's nice to start with something warm and filling that isn't packed with calories and cholesterol and this didn't disappoint. It was pretty oaty as claimed but still with the undertone of Ready Brek, presumably provided by the oat flour. The only visible difference between this and Ready Brek is this ... Read review
