Ideally with the larger output and varicam this is a very punchy and responsive motor. Variocam to put it in simple terms is very similar to Hondas VTI-R engines.
The tiptronic gearbox was a simple decision really you can go for the 6 speed manual however with the auto its a simple manual or auto driving decision. The manual choice is quite simple to the point where you dont even need to shift the auto lever to manual mode as the toggle switches (Ideally located on the steering wheel) does all the shifting work for you.
The colour I chose was seal grey the previous colour on my earlier boxster was Black. I have found that there are certain colours that hold better value for resale. The colours are as folows and by no means reflects a holding of value in your own country as I am talking through experience within the Australian market.
Guards Red Bassalt Black Seal Grey Lapis Blue Atlas Grey Midnight Blue
For a left field colour Speed Yellow is the one to go for....
I also opted for the Nav system, GT3 rasing seats with red coloured belts. Again the previous model I had I ordered the sports seats that hug better than the standard version seats.
Opening and closing the roof is in around 12 seconds and the newer version has the glass rear window, again better resale value down the track and less maintenance.
I also opted for the lower suspension with the standard 5 spoke wheels.
Overall a excellent car and if you can stretch to the S go for it it's worth every dollar.

Great choice of car, mate, but you sound like you hardly know one end of a Porsche from the other. This is a personal opinion, but I don't really understand anybody who buys one of the best sports cars ever built and pays EXTRA to have an AUTOMATIC transmission (because that's what the tiptronic is, an automatic with 'up' and 'down' buttons to go with the leverl). We want to hear some emotion about how improved it is over your 02 non-S version. The difference in price is substantial (say $70,000 and $105,000) so I really wanted you to sell the differences. I guess you just sound like the guy who wants a Porsche because they can afford it, which really pisses off people like me who can't!!! But thank you for helping keep the Porsche company afloat - we do really need people like you I guess. But surely the only people who buy Guards Red Boxsters are people who are so shallow that they think red is the only colour for a sports-car. There were so many guards red porsches sold to newly rich f**kwits in the 80's that it completely ruined that combination for me. Sigh I need my medication now I think.

Not nearly enough info for a car in this price bracket,it helps to read other reviews to get the "feel" of what is required..
Good luck

Awesome car, Id love a porsche. The S sounds a good upgrade, a liitle more advice would be helpful, whats the acceleration, torque and road handling like, and what colours do you think hold their value with Porsches, you mentioned some colours do,but didnt specify what colours. Hope you enjoy UK ciao!-CH
