...play OK except on the Goodmans machine – it just comes up ‘No Disc’. Unfortunately the machine went back to the shop to be exchanged for a rather nice Phillips, which plays everything with no problems. So far!. It cost 10 quid more, but without the radio or recharge option. As a footnote, I give full credit to Comet for exchanging the machine with no quibble and even offering a refund. I would however criticise Goodmans for putting no warnings ...

Why did I choose this persional CD player when there is a huge market for CD players out there, well quite simply because it was cheap and done all the things that I wanted it to do. The Goodmans CDMP352 CD player is an attractive-looking CD walkman which provides ease of use and the ability to play MP3s which these days is always helpful. The sound quality is generally very good, however I was a bit concerned at the mega-bass feature which when turned on, seems to have the effect of "clouding" the treble frequency and causing a certain amount of distortion with some music which is already bass-heavy. Like many people I have the CD walkman with me when I go jogging, and it can be quite annoying when the music plays in fits and starts even when held as securely as practically possible. This is the best personal disc player i've used. It's a nice silver With an easy to read display, the butons are nicely laid out & are different size/shape so you can feel the buttons without having to look.
